How does this compare with the Hogue monogrip? I have a 4" GP100 with black Hogue monogrips that are already pretty decent.

The monogrip that comes with the GP100 has a more narrow profile and is therefore a little smaller. The tamer grip comes with some kind of closed cell foam on the backstrap that does reduce recoil. If you shoot or plan to shoot a lot of full powder 357 mag loads it's a good investment. I would guess about a 25-30% reduction in felt recoil.

will this grip fit the ruger redhawk ?

No. It fits my Ruger Super Alaskan Redhawk great, and while it doesn't look as nice as the factory wood inly grips mine came with, it is way more comfortable and a very positive grip.Edit. I previously erroneously stated that it would fit the Ruger Redhawk. But it looks like it doesn't. Sorry for the misinformation.
