It's The Little Things That Make All The Difference
We're educated to know that the human body is made up of 70% water, and that we ought to drink as many glasses of H20 per day. It's a matter of fact that's been a pain in my ass ever since I was a kid, because I found the taste of water boring. It didn't cross my mind that it wasn't H20's fault, but rather the contaminants found in it, no matter how carefully I'd filtered it.Flash forward to this LYT UV Purification Cap: after just 2 days of using it on an 17oz stainless steel bottle (a piece of ex-employer swag), I'm pleasantly surprised at the clean and gentle taste of my purified water. I no longer feel anxiety about drinking from a bottle, or drinking water in general! Hooray for this little invention: it's made all the difference and solved a powerful problem that plagues most of the planet. It's made me look forward to drinking purified water on a daily basis, rather than feeling dread.

Works great
I am not familiar with water cleansing products but I thought I would give it a try to use at physical therapy. The bottle is easy to carry from station to station and keeps the water cool enough for a full session. I like the idea it is clean water with none of the usual bacteria in our water these days.

The LYT Water Bottle filter works!
The media could not be loaded. I can never make up my mind which water bottle to buy or take with me. The sizes and shapes vary, some fit in my car’s cup holder and some don’t, and some are heavier than others. But, the two non-negociables are 1) I need to stay hydrated, and 2) I can’t drink water that’s not clean and doesn’t taste good. The LYT water bottle cap fulfills both of these needs while allowing me the flexibility of using a variety of bottles as long as they fit with this standard cap size. The cap is meeting my needs because the water hasn’t made me sick yet (I’m usually very sensitive to any chemicals or other impurities in tap water). And, the water purified by the UV light tastes great!

There is a lot of bad with this product.
Without going into a rant I will simply start by saying there are better options out there. First and foremost it does not fit Swell bottles as advertised, I don't know how that continues to be advertised but it's simply not the case. Secondly I have not seen such a poor design feature on any product before as the charging method of this cap. The charging cable has an end with two tiny metal ends that must sit down in two spots on the very top of the lid (you can see the contacts in the pictures) It is difficult to explain because its just such a thoughtless idea but basically there is a magnet similar to how the pre type-c MacBook chargers were that pulls the pins into place and I suppose is supposed to keep the cable seated in position. It doesn't. The magnetic force does not have the power to keep the cable in the slots in any position. I Immediately returned mine for several reasons but the ridiculousness of having to get a rubber band to physically attach the charger to the cap was an experience I was not planning on having.

worked great for about 6 months
Loved this, when it worked. I stopped using the bottle for a while, and when I pulled it out of my pantry recently after almost a year of non-use, I thought the battery just needed charging. Alas, it appeared to be charging, but when you press the button to activate, it blinks and goes off. Oh well. I guess I will look elsewhere.

Couldn't find a compatible bottle
Easier just to buy the bottle + cap pair that you want. My attempt to nickel-and-dime my own combo failed. This cap didn't fit any of the bottles I tried. Even when the diameter was seemingly correct, the threading didn't match.

Works just like it should
I bought this to replace the cap my wife had on her swell bottle and it fit perfectly. Charging it is simple and easy and she even says she can taste a difference in the water now, saying it tastes "crisper".

It is UVC, but how strong? Charger connection weak.
The first thing I did was check to see if the light was actually UVC. My test strip proved it was, but less so than my other UVC products. As to the effectiveness of the disinfecting quality, I cannot say without a laboratory. The charging connector is magnetic and attaches to the top where you see the two metal nodes. This magnetic bond isn’t very strong, so it will work if it is stationary, but not in your bag while hiking on the move. I would like to see a stronger or locking connection. The product only promises protection from fragile bacteria like E. coli, so they warn against using to purify water. This is where the Steripen and competitors may lead in this category, but you will lose the convenience of having the cap.I’d suggest this product is better than having a plain cap, but expect to invest in other purification devices.
