I bought this unit to replace a 3-year old unit that is very similar in look, function and design. The old unit worked very well, but showed signs of age and use, so I felt it was time to replace it. This new unit appears to be well designed and even a little better. It's probably 50% brighter than the old one and the light shows very well in a full 360º circle of light when you look at it from ANY angle. The old unit worked best ONLY when looking straight at the flasher. If you got to the side of the flasher, it was much less bright. I've only used it for 1 night so far, so I may update this review later.Pros:Very bright for the money. Brighter than my old similar unit.Better cost. My old unit sells for nearly $60, this one was only $45 (and you might find it cheaper if you look around.)Good magnetic contact to the roof. It should hold up well to freeway speeds as well as my old unit did.Offers many more flash patterns and will remember the last flash pattern used. Easy to use on/off switch and pattern select buttons.Appears to be water/rain proof. (Will update as I use it more. We are still getting a lot of rain.)Cons:My old unit had a curled cord. This one is straight. So I have to deal with extra cord that kind of gets in the way. The curled cord seems to work better for my needs.The rubber footings that protect the car roof from the metal magnets are a little thin. Much thinner than my old unit's rubber cups. I am afraid they might wear thru with use and age. (Time will tell.)But all in all, I am very pleased with this new flasher. The brightness is much better and I feel like I'm seen better when I need to use it for on sight lighting inspections late at night when I'm driving thru truck yards and I want to make sure I'm seen. For the price, I'm not sure you can find a much better flash unit.I will update as needed to report any new items of note.Update: I’ve had this unit for 2 years now. It still works like new and has suffered little for any wear. In fact, it sits on top of my car 24/7/365 ... much of the time out in the sun and/or elements. All without much, if any signs of wear or aging. It’s well worth the price.

Very nice little light considering how affordable it is. Some of the strobe patterns are a little silly, but there are a few reasonable ones in there and the LEDs are nice and bright, even in daylight.The fit and finish of the components are good as well as the cable length are plenty sufficient to span from the center console, reach out the back window and reach up to the roof with plenty of slack.

Update, July 2023: I've now had this light for four years. Although it spends most of the time in the truck under the seat, it has gone thousands of miles on the roof at all speeds and weather conditions. It still works as good as the day I got it, and if anything happened to it I would buy the same one again. For the price it is just a really darn good light.Original review below:I purchased one of these for occasional use when I am deployed on CERT missions. I needed to use it to block a road recently, and after I was done, it seemed stuck onto the roof well enough that I just left it up there to see how it held up to normal driving conditions.In short, it does just fine! 75-85MPH on the roof of a full sized pickup didn't budge this thing. I had one brief run up to 105MPH, and it held tight. I have not noticed any water intrusion whatsoever, and the light operates beautifully, especially considering the price. Several other members of my CERT team are now considering purchasing them. I agree with the poster who said to just get this one already! I have not been disappointed.That said, it's coming off the truck whenever I go through a car wash. I may be crazy enough to go over 100MPH occasionally, but I'm not stupid enough to think this would hang on through that kind of beating.

Bought this light for snow plowing.Magnets are plenty strong to hold it to the roof unless you're looking to set a land speed record. They also hold it up an inch or so, which works better to improve visibility on longer roofs or taller trucks.There are lots of patterns to choose from, and I found a few that I liked. It remembers the pattern you select, so you could technically hard wire it once you choose a pattern. I think I'll wire in a cigarette lighter plug that feeds off the 4-ways. That way the light bar will come on when I run the 4 ways, and I won't forget to turn it off when I get out of the truck.This light is not terribly bright in direct sunlight, but it is still noticeable. At night, it lights up really well without being blinding, and that's fine with me.Normal price seems good. I got it for closer to $30 on Black Friday.

Took the light from the box and plugged it into my aux power in my truck and it worked great inside my truck. Placed it on top thinking all was good. Hit the switch on my first stop and nothing. Got back to town a week later and remove the light from on top and again place it in the cab. Worked great. Put it back on top and again lights up. Looks good.Leave town and once again hit the switch thinking all was good. Get out for inspection and nothing.Sending it back.Review update....it turns out the problem was not the light but the plug in my truck.My apologies for besmirching the good name of Xprite. The light is not quite as bright as I like but it appears to be of sound quality. Very good for the price. I would recommend.
