Solid performer
This pump is pleasantly quietโnot โdid it teleport away?โ quiet, but more like a steady, reassuring hum that lets you know itโs working hard and not plotting against you. You can hear it doing its job, but itโs never annoying or disruptive. Think responsible adult energy, not heavy machinery chaos. Performance-wise, itโs an absolute workhorse. Once installed, it just gets down to business and moves water like itโs personally offended by moisture. Build quality is solid and confidence-inspiring, and setup was straightforward with no surprises. Overall, itโs reliable, well-made, reasonably quiet, and drama-freeโexactly what you want from a pump. Five stars for doing its job well without trying to be the loudest thing in the room.

Seems reliable.
WONDERFUL! I have major water issues during heavy rains. My old pump suddenly gave out, and this one was delivered in less than 2 days. Easy to adapt and install within an hour. Runs so quietly I had to see the water coming out of the discharge pipe to make sure it was running. Pumps quickly and effortlessly. We have had flooding rains here this Spring and I am extremely happy with this pump.

Horror Story with a Happy Ending Courtesy of Wayne Sump Pump!
I recently purchased a 95% gut renovation in Chicago. The plumbing work that was done is phenomenal, so I was extremely surprised to find a 1/2 inch of water in half of my newly finished basement after our first flash flood rain of the summer last month. I pulled the sump basin lid off and sure enough, it completely full. I fished around in the water with my hand until I found float and wiggled it around a few times which finally triggered the pump to turn on. It drained the basin and drained the water that had backed in the inlet pipes, leaving me to push all of the standing water floor drain and spend a few days cleaning up the mess. When it rained again that weekend, I immediately went down to the basement and sure enough, I watched the basin fill quickly, but the float didn't trigger pump again, so there I sat on the floor in the utility room, for 3 hours in the middle of the night, hitting the float with a piece of wood every 5 minutes to turn the pump on. Once it stopped raining, I pulled the pump out, which is when I learned it was a Flotec FPZS33T model. I disassembled the float switch, cleaned all of the contacts, reassembled the switch, checked all of the seals, cleaned the intake, and put the pump back in the basin. I ran my garden hose into basin, and successfully triggered the float switch. I was feeling pretty satisfied with my handy work. Problem solved right? Wrong. We got through two more decent rains without any problems. The pump seemed to be working well. On Wednesday night (two days ago), the entire Chicagoland area was under Flash Flood and Tornado warnings. When the rain started, I went down to the basement and everything seemed good. After about 20 minutes, I went back down to the basement and noticed that basin was 2/3 full, but the pump was still running full tilt because I could not only hear it, but I could hear the water moving through the discharge pipe. I sat there for the next 20 minutes and watched the basin slowly fill to capacity, backing up the inlet pipes yet again. Within an hour of the rain starting, I had water beginning to pool on the floor again, not as badly as the first time because the pump was actually on, but bad enough to really tick me off. This pump was less than a year old, and it already had a faulty switch and completely failed to keep pace with a regular summer thunder storm! I ordered a Wayne CDU980E 3/4 horsepower sump pump on Amazon with overnight delivery. The pump came by noon yesterday. I had it installed in 15 minutes because the fittings and pipe lengths were a perfect match. I tested it and it ran great. Last night we had another torrential downpour and new pump worked like a champ! This thing didn't even break a sweat, and it is actually a bit quieter than the other pump to boot! I'm very satisfied. Great product and incredibly easy to install! The Wayne pump only cost $30 more than the Flotec pump and it is a much better design and WAY me powerful. I'll monitor the performance over the summer and post back if anything changes. The good news for Flotec is that I might not throw their garbage pump away immediately. I'm thinking of making an outdoor basin that catches rainwater from my gutter downspout and then pump it into a larger catchment in my garden to use for watering my plants. So yeah, this pump will spend the remainder of its life in my garden, moving rainwater for my vegetables, but I will never allow it near my home ever again!

Powerful and Reliable Sump Pump!
This sump pump has been a fantastic addition to our basement. The 3/4 HP motor moves water quickly and efficiently, giving me peace of mind during heavy rains. The cast iron and stainless steel construction feels very durable and built to last. The integrated vertical float switch works flawlesslyโno worries about the pump turning on or off when it should. Installation was straightforward, and it runs quietly without any issues. Highly recommend for anyone needing a dependable sump pump!

Good pump for the money...very sucky
This was ordered to replace a basement sump pump. New England home sitting in a dell and ground surface is about 2 feet above water table in some places. Basement flooding is a huge problem in spring and fall. We depend very heavily on a solid working pump to the point that we have a second sump hole and back up pump. Pump has to lift about 6 feet vertical and out about 20 feet to drainage field. I ordered the 3/4 hsp because of the lift and the volume of water this will need to move in the spring. The first pump that I ordered the auto shut off was not working. It comes with 5 yr warranty. Pump was replaced easily with no questions asked. The second pump arrived before I had even had the chance to get the first back to the post office. Second pump works perfectly. Strong quiet running motor with excellent power. Some features I particularly like: Intake area is actually up about two inches from the bottom and draws from the sides, less sludge running through the pump, The shut off switch has a protection handle to keep objects and debris from interfering with the path of the lift float on the shut off arm. So far everything is running well. I took off one star because of the auto shut off issue which Iโve seen pretty consistently through other posts. They replaced the pump and thatโs to be expected from any company that wants to be taken seriously. My time uninstalling, then reinstalling, repackaging and making an extra trip for mail canโt be replaced however and I feel that a company putting extra time and resources into quality control saves many customers wasted work hours. Will update if any other issues arise.

Quiet, Quality Build, Powerful
We purchased this pump in February to replace a 5 year old pump that was loud and the float kept getting stuck in on the on position. We didn't realize how quiet the sump could be and lived with the noisy one way too long. In Spring, our sump pump goes off 5-6 times an hour and the old one was so loud we could hear it two floors up. The Wayne pump is so quiet that we don't hear it. It was an easy install even though we had never replaced the pump before and we easily saved over $500 by not using a plumber. It's a solid built unit and much higher quality than the old pump. If we ever have to replace it we will happily choose another Wayne. So glad we could find it on Amazon as the in store pumps at local hardware and plumbing supply stores don't measure up to this one.

Submersible sump pump
I reviewed many sump pumps before I decided to buy. This pump was highly rated and for good reason. Great pump so far I would've gave it 5 stars but I've only had it a month. Quiet, efficient and money well spent BUY ONE. You won't be disappointed

Party on Wayne!... Party on Garth!
We just moved in to our newly renovated house and it had a new sump pump but a cheap one (1/4 hp and $90-$100 price range). This cheap pump would run for 1-2 minutes at a time and so loud that it would wake us up at night. So I googled best sump pump and this Wayne one came up as highest rated. I watched a few youtube videos on how to install, and it was super easy, since all my pipes were new and the pit was already set I didn't need to replace any piping or dig the pit, I just unscrewed the old pump and screwed this one in. Then I filled up the pit with water and did a test run and it emptied in 2 seconds with only a gentle noise. I was actually blown away. I couldn't understand why anyone would endure the noise of the cheaper pump to save $100 or $150. In terms of noise, I wanted to give a detailed review because this was our primary concern: -the noise is comparable to a quiet/newer dishwasher when you are beside the pump. Since ours is in an enclosed utility closet the pump operation noise is not noticeable from outside the closet unless you are told what to listen for and sit quietly to wait for it. It is also so quick that the sound doesn't last long. -The pump is so powerful and quick that it creates some force when it turns on and sends the water out. You may hear the water flow through pipes if you can hear water flow through other pipes in your house (like if you can hear somebody empty the bathtub when you are downstairs). This may or may not be noticeable depending on how insulated your walls are and whether or not you have secured the outflow pipes (or if they're just flopping around willy-nilly). The pump also feels very solid and looks well built. The only negative was shipping took 2 days longer than expected and that happened to be during a rain event so we were suffering with the old pump. I would totally recommend.
