Great Utility Pan!
Purchased for a gift! It is a well built pan, and perfect for stove top dinners. The high sides are conducive to mixing the contents without spilling out! A great product!

Amazing. Pans. I spent so much on expensive needlessly, Don’t buy china
I was very surprised at the quality of this pan. The fit and finish was perfect. I bought a made in and it was very well made also, a little heavier but 4 times as much. No, Stick with Tramontina. I also bought an our pan only to be reading the reviews and they were not so great. I am replacing all my pans that are non stick and staying with Tramontina. I usually buy American but Brazilian will be ok. Just not china. I think our pan is china also. Good luck UPDATE. I have been. Using the pans for a few weeks now and have followed the instructions as stated. Use medium heat, heat the pan for about two minutes, add te oil, heat until it shimmmers and food. Well, I friend finely peppers, as i have for years, covered for a few minutes until they got a little soft and them removed the cover, addded the onions and fried until kind of browned, not all, but they were soft and we,, just fried. The fold that came on the pan was so easily removed with just a flat wooden spoon. I really was surprised at how easily it cleaned. Follow their instructions and you will be fine. Just medium or lower if necessary. SO, YOU CAN TEACH AN. OLD NEW TRICKS. I would not buy low quality pans. As far as Tramontina goes, get the tri=ply with the stainless cover as those are made in Brazil. If it has a glass cover they are made in China. Stay away them. I think the difference is only about 20 dollars.

Well made and works great
This is a great skillet: it works very well. I see a lot of reviews saying food sticks but that’s due to improper use by others. There is also mention of a popping noise from the lid. It is a bit unnerving, but it’s not that bad and it does not affect the food being cooked in it. It’s just air. This is a very well made skillet and so far it’s been superb and a great deal for the price point. It’s made in Brazil and not China.

Nice purchase.
Have only used it twice, but it works great. It is a little thinner than I expected, but it does not seem to affect performance. It is also lighter and easier to handle..

Even heating.
Tramontina's 6qt deep saute pan has turned out pretty good. I bought it to make a few recipes from the NYT. I really like the deep walls limiting oil splatter. Heat distribution seems very even. I guess the core is good. I don't notice any obvious hot spots. The base wider than my stove burner, so I can't have another large stock pot on the back burner of the same side. But that's ok for a saute pan. Handles are great. Rivets are properly seated. That actually turned out to be a problem on one of my other pots (different brand).

Heavy duty!
This pan is amazing. I was sick of Teflon and pans warping. This pan is heavy duty, and worth the money!!

Great braiser, glass lid makes clicking and popping noises
I have happily owned Tramontina pans and flatware for over 20 years (I have actually hauled my stuff in 2 overseas moves across 3 continents because it's too good and sturdy enough to withstand the trip). The Brazilian made stainless steel is as good as it gets and my oldest stuff is as good as new, so this was a bit of a letdown experience for me. I wish I could give the pan 5 stars but the lid is problematic. As I actually liked this pan very much, let me start with the PROS. The upside: the pan is beautiful, great size for searing and braising -stovetop and oven. Some people who are not really versed in cooking, think "stainless steel" stands for "nonstick", it doesn't, it never did, it ONLY means it doesn't rust. It has, however, always been used for browning and searing. You just need to use a little oil to coat the pan, pre-heat on low and don't go above medium heat while searing/browning, give the food space between the pieces, and if you deglaze the pan at the end, there won't be anything stuck to it. It cleans beautifully and if it looks "stained" just use "BarKeepers Friend" to polish it - it will look new again. BUT I took one star for the defective lid and one star for the weak CS and dubious warranty. The glass lid starts making clicking/popping noises (video) as soon as steam builds up in it. It scared me when I first heard it because I thought it was shattering over my stew, and the noises even accelerated when removed lid from the pan. I have an old glass lid that never made any noises so it's not normal to me. So I asked here on Amazon if anyone else had this experience but only Tramontina's CS answered to contact them so they could solve it. They were of of little help, the first person I spoke with on the chat just told me to send pictures of the pan and a video of the problem, and once I did she replied: "This issue does not affect the performance of the pan. This may be caused due to the pressure inside of the pan when frying. Unfortunately, this is not a manufacturing defect, therefore it can not be covered." None of which is true, first that the lid wouldn't keep making noises after removed from pan if it were an internal pressure issue (it's not on video but I told them in the chat), second it doesn't matter since the glass is not supposed to make this noises - so that is a manufacture defect. Not to mention no reassurance that the lid would be okay. And why did she need pictures and video to tell me that, other than to stall, is beyond my comprehension. So I called and talked to a less robotic and nicer person who told me that they considered normal for the glass lid to make clicking noises, and if it shattered they would replace it (Cold comfort if it shatters on my food that may be as expensive as the pan itself- and I wouldn't really hold my breath waiting on their warranty judging by the Costumer service I encountered). Wouldn't it be safer to just exchange the lid now? Now I ask, why couldn't they just say that when I asked the question here on Amazon???? With this CS they are incentivizing people who bought through Amazon to just return their stuff, very foolish if you ask me. Since I bought it through Amazon I could have tried exchanging for a new one, but I ended keeping it, first because the pan (metal part) is so good I couldn't find anything in this quality tier for nearly the same price and there is no guarantee the new lid would be any different, second because the Amazon Price ($59) was already discounted from Tramontina's price ($84) and I felt that it was the discount for the lid. I don't recommend paying full price for this item. Every time I use that lid I feel the adrenaline of living dangerously- lol. I really wish they had a stainless steel lid for this pan.

Excellent pan
Although relatively heavy it is really robust and I can crank the induction up to high without the issue of the bowing of the base which is great. A really well priced pan.

Plan a place for storage.
Great value and quality. Large so needs some storage space. Transfers well from stove top to oven

Worth the price
Solid pan, good lid. Made Osso Buco and the pan distributed heat well. Easy cleanup. Do yourself a favor and do an Internet search on cooking with stainless steel. There are some do's and don'ts.

Excellent heavy duty skillet with outstanding heat distribution
I am extremely impressed with this 6 quart tri ply stainless steel skillet. It checked every single box I was looking for in a daily driver pan, and the overall construction feels incredibly solid and well balanced. Build and Heat Retention: The tri ply construction makes a massive difference in how it performs on the cooktop. It heats up evenly across the entire flat bottom with no obvious hot spots, and it holds temperature remarkably well when dropping in cold ingredients. Capacity and Function: The 6 quart size is the sweet spot for family meals. The high sides keep oil splatters down and make it easy to sear protein before building a full sauce in the same pan. Lid and Hardware: The glass lid is a huge plus. It fits snug against the rim, holds steam in reliably, and allows you to monitor your food without lifting the cover and losing heat. This is a heavy, durable piece of cookware that performs like high end stainless steel. It makes cooking at home much easier and feels built to last for years. Thanks for reading.
