ITEM: Bullfrog Quik Gel Sunscreen SPF 50 I have used this stuff for years and had a hard time finding it this time. Fortunately Amazon carried it. Run a bead down each arm continuing onto the back of the hand. With the other hand, spread the bead around the arm, and continue this method down through the hand. It will dry to a CLEAR, VERY slightly sticky, covering, and do a good job at protecting against sun burn. The odor is VERY faint, and is not objectionable. Reviews that indicate otherwise may be reporting on other Bullfrog products (?).

Great product! A lot better than spay on of other brands. Last a lot longer as well. A must have for all day out door activities and work.

I have been using Bullfrog Quik Gel for around 45 years or so. Started when I was bicycling heavily (and racing) and now for general working outside on my two acres. It does work. Spread on a small amount and by the time you finish washing your hands it has 'set' into your skin and you are ready to go. BUT... Mine arrived in a small box and the bottle was heat sealed in a small plastic bag. The flip-top cap was opened and a good amount had been dispensed into the little bag. Maybe it was the heat.. maybe it was a return.. maybe it was negligence. I do not know the actual cause I poured as much of the spilled product back into the bottle by making a small cut in the corner of the bag and squeezing and rolling the the bag from top to bottom to get out the last drop. After that I used a bright flashlight shining through the back of the bottle and drew the black line you see in the enclosed bottle. After the retrieval ordeal the product came to the bottom edge of the line. None had leaked from the bag into the box during shipping. I do not have a new, full bottle on hand so cannot comment how much, it any, is 'missing.' Needless to say I shall be investigating further. I do recommend purchasing this product from a local store instead of having it shipped.

Update: I added a star to this review because after I used it for a while I got the trick of applying it without it pilling up. It is super quick drying so you have to literally put it on and do like one quick swipe over the area that you want in a thin layer and be done. There’s no rubbing it in. It dries super fast and with just a hint of a sheen but not greasy, sticky and no white residue. It’s great for my tattoo because it brings out the colors. I’ve actually become a fan of this gel sunscreen in the right circumstances and applied correctly. Original review: I am very impressed with the bullfrog face sticks as well as the bullfrog insect repellent and sunscreen in one. I hate the feel of sunscreen lotion and its greasiness but I also am allergic to a lot of the sunscreen sprays so I thought this gel would be a nice compromise. I used it for the first time today and no matter how quickly or lightly I tried rubbing it on it ended up leaving little sunscreen "pills" everywhere. I did not get burned so at least some of it stayed but in all fairness I do not burn that easily. I also noticed that after I went swimming, it left white streaks all over my body which I have never had with sunscreen before. Overall, I was not impressed and I would definitely keep using the sunscreen sticks as well as the mosquito repellent version but I would never buy the gel again.

Bullfrog is always a fantastic choice. I have been using it for many years. I started using it while surfing in California. It held up and did a great job when being out on the water for an extended period of time. You can't go wrong with any of the Bullfrog products.

This is a clear gel sunscreen that I was hoping would go on quickly and leave my skin dry to the touch. Unfortunately, when you apply it, it tends to pill up instead of going on smoothly. It has an alcohol base, but it does not dry completely. Instead, it leaves an oily film on your skin.

The bullfrog sunscreen always seems to work better than other sunscreens and goes on easily.

If you burn easily; this is the product for you. This is a gel; so totally non-greasy. It's got a bit of an antiseptic/alcohol smell that quickly dissipates. You will not burn! My husband is very fair-skinned, sees a dermatologist to check for skin issues every year (from sun) and it has saved his skin from potential problems.
