Great coverage when gray comes out

I have used the red root cover up for a few years now and it does the job. I am not ready to go grey or white yet. I use Clairol Natural Instincts Medium Auburn demi-permanent hair color. Over the years it has been harder and harder to color those grey and white hairs along my hairline, temples and part. I have very long hair, so only wash it once a week. After drying, I hold a tissue over my face, shake up the can and spray along the part and hairline. I keep it pretty close and use hair clips to hold back some of my hair to get the temples too. It lasts a week for me, then I wash it out. I have not noticed it bleeding on to fabrics unless I wear a tight hat. It may not be the product for you if you wash your hair a lot. If your hair is very bright red the color may not match. It seems to be a dark auburn, not really red. It isn't a perfect match, but it covers up the grey and white hairs very well. When I first tried it out, I bought one can at the drug store. That might be a good idea to see if it is a good match for you. Now that I use it regularly, I like the fact that it is a two pack, so I can stock up and it lasts for many months. It's an extra expense, but I like what I see when I look in the mirror!

Perfect for extending your root color between salon appointments! I am 54 with red hair and this color matches well. I am about 40% grey, this product has 100% grey coverage without feeling sticking, cake or “thick” on my roots. I’ve used this product for years and have yet to find one even comparable.

This is a very good product. I have only given it 4 stars because it states on can that it will last until next shampoo, I have not found that to be true as I have had to use it every day between shampoos; however, I don’t have to use dry shampoo, too, as this does the job of both. I just wish it came in a larger can for the same price.

I've been looking for a new red colored root cover-up powder for a while, and I was pleased to find this! I dye my hair bright ginger and my natural hair is a dark ash-toned blonde. So my roots can be VERY noticeable and in the wrong lighting can sometimes look like my hair is thinning. Especially since I can't get into a salon right now (Apr 2020) I wanted something to make me feel a bit better without presently altering my hair and invoking my stylist's wrath when I eventually do get to go back to the salon. Incomes this powder! First, I do think the color would be a better match for darker reds/auburn hair as it's a bit darker than my hair. However, I was able to blend it out with my hairbrush a bit after it set and it didn't look bad. Like a shadow root if anything. But I do wish they had more than one red shade. The only downside is it's a bit messy. I didn't have problems with the application, but fair warning if you touch your hair throughout the day you'll probably get colored powder on your hands. But it seems to lessen over time, I woke up this morning with it still in my hair, looking good!
