Must-have for home renovations!
If you are going to do a home renovation project with dust control barrier(s), and you think you may want to pass through that barrier, then you should just buy this product! The contractor for my home project didn't come equipped with any type of pass-through solution (just plastic and blue painters tape). So I ended up buying these zippers myself. I'm really glad I did, and so were my wife and kids! Much more convenient than having to walk around the work area. I decided to get the red "heavy duty" version zippers since there were a couple reviews complaining about the adhesive failing on the standard (black) version. Absolutely no issue with the red zippers staying attached throughout a 12-week project, with the zipper being used multiple times a day. I used the two zippers for 2 different locations (1 zipper each location); rather than on 1 roll-up door. So I didn't make use of the hooks, and can't comment on those. The kit includes a special cutter to cut the plastic barrier after you've adhered the zipper. The cutter seems like a cheap piece of plastic, but actually works really well. It has 2 blades, about a half inch apart. It cuts parallel slits at the zipper opening, then you tear off the middle (half inch) strip of plastic barrier. This really helps keep the plastic from getting caught in the zipper. For one opening, my contractor didn't listen to me, and just cut the barrier with a utility knife (one slit). The plastic instantly got jammed in the zipper on the first use. I was able to trim back the plastic using scissors, so the edge of the plastic was away from the zipper. But believe me, just use the included cutter to begin with. It really works! All home remodeling contractors should make this product part of their standard kit. It just makes the project more convenient for everyone, and it would impress the customers.

Works well - updated
Update: the zippers have now been through a hot garage summer and the glue is still holding. There are some pockets where the glue has released, but the zippers still work. Update #2: after 1.5 years one of the zippers has lost its adhesion to the plastic. For more permanent use it may be possible to sew these onto the plastic before hanging the whole thing. These are relatively easy to put on and work very well so far. Two small issues: 1) the enclosed metal hooks are too flimsy to do any good. If you place them at the height of the zipper, there is too much plastic material to properly fit into the hook and it ends up rolling out of the hook. I ended up putting some duct tape on not sides of the hole and put a Velcro strap instead of the hook. 2) if you know where you will put the opening before you put up the plastic, I suggest placing the zipper while the plastic sheeting is on the floor. Keeping the sheeting smooth when putting on the adhesive part while the plastic is hanging is pretty hard to impossible. So far this hasn’t caused any issues even though it’s bitter cold. I hope the adhesive will also hold up to hot weather. I’m debating on sewing the fabric to the plastic at some point, since I’m using this semi-permanently as a divider for my wood working ‘room’ in the gates (to keep the dust from everything).

Functional and Fairly Durable
They were expensive for what they are---Basically an oversize zipper with some adhesive on the back. Somebody is making a huge profit. They proved to be functional and fairly durable. Used to create zippered dust walls at two hallways adjacent to a kitchen that was being remodeled. Were up for over 3 week, attached to plastic I fixed to frames made out of 2 x 4's. This arrangement kept all dust out of unwanted areas yet allowed fairly easy passage when necessary. The adhesive came loose along the top 5 or 6 inches a couple of times during this period but I was able to re-stick it. If you have a remodel project that will generate substantial dust, this is the way to go. Just wish there was more competition to keep the price more reasonable.

Great! Great! Great!
I work in clients homes that are fully furnished on a daily basis so containing a dust mess (or just keeping them out when I am working, lol) is a must. These zipper work better than any I have found. They are a large style zipper for ease on moving on them even when full of dust....where as some of these type zipper kits are more like clothing zippers and become difficult to move up and down when debris accumulates on them. These zipper are so durable that if you want to save a little money you can salvage them for the next few jobs by removing them from used plastic then taping them on the new plastic and they still work just fine. The door hooks work very well in keeping the door way open when moving tools in and out and are super easy to install and use.

Easy to install and worked well
Used this as my greenhouse door last season. I took down all the plastic in Spring and it looks like I’ll be able to reuse the door piece for this next season. The glue is strong. It comes with a handy cutting tool, I used another set during my kitchen remodel. Open and closed it every day for 12 weeks. Worked perfectly.

we had the builders in and didn't want the dust as previous times I got fed up of clearing the dust only to find the dust was back an hour later Aarrr. So I thought I would give these ago.... perfect, kept all the dust out and most of the cold. we bought our own polyethene from else were as it was cheaper but the zips are very sturdy, strong .just make sure you stick the zips on right the first time as the adhesive is strong and don't think you would be able to take off again without destroying you polyethene, but the instruction are very clear and easy to follow.

I was really impressed with how well these zipper assemblies worked! Simple to install, good adhesion to plastic barrier, operated well, and, most importantly, kept the dust contained! Highly recommended.

Used this on 6mil poly to keep dust out during a renovation. Excellent quality, sticky adhesive that will last. It wasn’t clear when I bought this, but it’s intended to use two zippers for a single door per the instructions. I wound up using only one per door so that I could have a second entrance and they work well in that scenario as well. The cutting tool that comes with it was very handy because it cuts a strip out that is perfectly sized. These are a little pricy, but good quality.
