Looks Amazing and fit my 99 ford explorer limited 5.0L V8
works great and super easy to install and looks amazing it fit my 99 ford explorer limited 5.0L V8 with no issues at all. it is made with high quality polymer and seems to be really durable. this is amazing value for the money and what it would cost you to have someone else install the radio for you.

Works on a 2008 Ford E-350 Super Duty XL Van
It was past time to update the bare-bones stock stereo in our 2008 Ford E-350 Super Duty XL Van (previously called an Econnoline, which sometimes makes it hard to find the right part - this is the right part). Although this vehicle has a double din stereo opening, it is not exactly the standard size opening. Things to know: 1. This dash kit comes with minimal instructions, as in you are pretty much on your own. 2. You will need to modify the non-standard opening of your Ford vehicle (one of the few things the instructions state explicitly, without providing any guidance). For me, this meant using a Dremel to file away the bottom edge/ridge of the opening in its entirety and shave about 3/16" off the top edge/ridge. 3. This kit is essentially two side pieces that snap into place on the left and right edges of the double din opening with an (optional?) front piece of trim that can go either on the bottom or the top of the stereo to fill any leftover gap. The side pieces screw into the side of your stereo using screws that should come with the stereo. The front trim piece just gets pressed into place, with no other means of affixing it. 4. Make sure ALL connections are made and tested BEFORE sliding the stereo in place. Once snapped in, this dash mount is not designed to be removed. If I ever need to remove the stereo I will simply buy another dash kit and destructively remove this one (making sure not to damage the dash opening or stereo). This should be possible because it is just plastic. I was able to achieve a nice, tight fit and am pleased with the final installation. One thing to note is that by design this dash kit results in the stereo being recessed a bit further than I would prefer. I didn't understand why all the installation photos posted on Amazon looked very recessed until I worked with this dash installation kit. That's just how this dash kit fits.

Works great for a Crown Victoria with a little modification
I used this as the base adapter to install a double din radio in a 2009 crown victoria. The crown vic was not really designed to accept a double din radio but it can be done. The stock adapter puts the radio too far back in the opening, the radio actually comes in contact with the defroster duct and prevents the adapter from locking in. Wanting to keep my defroster duct intact, I slotted the required mounting holes a 1/2 an inch longer and cut off the dash matching trim area. This allowed me to bring the unit forward a half an inch allowing the unit to snap into the dashboard properly. Be forewarned, once the radio is snapped in, the entire dash plate has to come out to remove the radio. The radio now sits 1/4 inch back from flush with the dash. The radio came with a trim bezel that I trimmed to fit the opening and the radio looks like a factory install. Note: You have to trim the top and bottom of the radio opening flush with the bezel and trim a little of the sides, but not too much. The sides are where the adapter locks into the opening. All in all, it took about 20 minutes to modify the adapter once I got done figuring out the right depth to clear the wiring harness and leave an air gap for cooling the unit. I had to order a second one for my neighbor who owns a 03 crown vic who now wants one installed in his car. If your not scared of a little dremel work, this is an easy way to add a double din to an 03-11 crown vic. It will not work on a 02 or older unless you really modify the defroster duct. I would recommend this kit to anyone who wants to put a double din in an 03 or later crown vic. But some planning and dremel work is required to get it right. I forgot to mention that once you make this modification, the factory radio will not lock into the dash. You will need a new dash bezel to put the stock radio back in.

Good, not great. WARNING! Read installation info in this review!
WARNING!!! See installation info below!!! Pros: Bolts up easily to aftermarket stereos and does a great job of holding it in place. Cons: To remove the radio, you have to remove the dash. There's no way to release the stereo once it's installed. So here's the big fat warning... Do NOT install the two screws in the dash that were above the stock stereo. If you do, you will NOT be able to remove your stereo without cutting or breaking something. The way the factory stereo works is that you use two keys (or some pieces of coat hanger) to remove the stereo, then remove those two screws, and then pop the dash off. But with this kit, if you install those two screws and then pop in the stereo, you can't remove the stereo anymore - so you can't remove the screws - so you can't remove the dash. You're screwed! (Pun intended.) DO NOT INSTALL THE TWO DASH SCREWS!! So here's the thing... the stock opening in a Ford Excursion / Superduty isn't quite a double-DIN. It's a little bit shorter and a little bit wider. So to install a double-DIN head unit, you have to remove some extra material on the top and bottom of the opening. No big deal. But what bugs me is that these brackets actually have to fill a gap on either side of the stereo because the opening is too wide. With just a bit more engineerification (that's a word, right?) Metra could have made it so that you could remove the stereo using the same removal "keys" you have to use to remove the stock stereo, and that would have allowed you to secure the dash with the afore mentioned screws. They screwed up the design. (Second pun. I'm on a roll.) Bottom line: Of course I'd purchase again... what option do we have? But I don't think this is a great item. It's sufficient, and certainly has room for improvement.

Perfect fit in my 2000 Ford E350 radio factory spot; you will need to shave a bit of the dash plastic for the JVC double din to fit in but no big deal. (trimmed about 1/8" all the way around) Purchased the Metra 70-1771 Radio Wiring Harness" from amazon and it plugged right in to the e350 radio harness. Very clean install; would recommend to anyone!

Exactly what I needed to install a double din head unit in my super duty. Well built and easy to install. Would definitely recommend if you’re trying to to install an aftermarket double din in one of the vehicles listed on the install manual.
