Great Addition to our Kitchen Sink!!!
Perfect! The factory set hot water temp is perfect for several cups of hot water. We no longer have to wait for our Kuerig to warm water for tea or instant coffee. Of course, nothing beats fresh brew. We added the filter and no new have filtered cold (tap water temperature) and hot water. Moreover, the flow rate is decent...itโs much faster than the fridge but doesnโt match the faucet. Use the hot water to help speed up a pot of boiling water. Also, for the ones in the family who donโt like Cold water from the fridge, itโs a perfect fit. We use the sink faucet tap water for everything else, but anything we consume comes out of the โwaveโ. The design matched our new faucet and looks great. It was extremely easy to install. We had a tap ready for the faucet and used the quick connect fittings to connect them all together. Attaching the water line last, and letting the tank fill, the faucet was ready to go. Cons - fitting the faucet into our quartz counter was troublesome. The hole wasnโt big enough for the plastic โouterโ thread and the inner metal fitting wasnโt long enough for our counters. Rather than call a counter specialist to come back out and drill a larger hole (which wouldnโt have gone well) I decided to sand off the threads on the plastic extension to get it to fit...but once I did, everything went smoothly. The tank is also deeper than I had anticipated. We have plenty of room under the sink, but due to its depth we couldnโt put it where we thought without it interfering with the deep sink we have. Lastly, the fittings attach from the top. If I knew then what I know now, I wouldโve bought some 90-degree elbow quick connect fittings to keep from bending the lines and to ensure it can go as high in the cabinet as possible. Of course, more fitting mean more opportunities for leaks...but it all went well. Overall...Iโm very pleased with the product and I would highly recommend it to anyone. The convenience of having filter water is great.

I love this hot water dispenser
OMG, I love this hot water dispenser. Great for making teas, hot cereals and instant coffee in half the time because the water is already hot and waiting to be used. As a bonus, it disinfects and cleans dishes and bottles with out chemicals because the temperature of the water is 160-210ยฐ F. I choose this model because I installed a 3 stage water filtration system under the sink and i wanted only one additional spout added to the top of the sink. After filtered water leaves the filtration system the water line splits in two, one goes to the insinkerator then to the hot water side of the spout, the second line goes right to the cold water side of the spout. So using the water filtration system and splitting the lines give me filtered hot water and filtered drinking water. I have read the reviews for this and other models and I really believe most problems can be attributed to installation errors, irregularities in the existing plumbing or water condition. I do believe in the existents of manufacturing defects, so upon receiving my unit I took it apart for inspection. I found that under the plastic outer shell is a thick layer of insulating Styrofoam and under that is the tank. That is it, nothing complicated here. I did a quick look over of the ports and electrical connections and it all looked solid and tight. No tubing or wires came in contact with the tank. This unit has a two tap spout with indicators for hot and cold water. It does not chill water. It only heats it. The water is as cold as it is out your regular sink faucet. It is warm to the touch, because the contents is hot. Occasionally, it will make a very faint boiling noise as the heating element turns on to keep the water at the set temperature. For safety, you have to hold the lever for hot or cold water to flow. Wish I did not have to hold the lever for cold water. I Like It. Would Recommend. Will Buy Again.

Use a pre-filter or RO for better longevity.
My Insinkerator Wave is now 4 yrs, 4 months old now. First time with this model. Iโve owned my home for 28 years now and have always had some sort of insinkerator hot water model. Most of them have lasted only 2-3 years before heater failure, heater leaking, or dispenser leak/failure. So far, ( knock on wood ) this one is still going strong. We use it daily for tea/coffee ( hot side ),....drinking water, people and pet ( cold side ). I believe the longevity of this unit is due to the fact that this time around I installed a pre-filter prior to/upstream of the dispenser. This dramatically lowers the scale build up inside the heater. Our city water is pretty good, tastes fine and is fairly low in scale ( Generally lower in TDS, total dissolved solids, aka, Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium,etc....) ....but having a pre-filter will lower this further. On the cold side, I have found myself drinking allot more water now than I used to,.....taste is great. I used Insinkeratorโs filter system which was easy to install. Swapping filters are a breeze. Conโs are the filters are pricey...My recommendation is to install a pre-filter system or Reverse Osmosis system prior to feeding your Insinkerator for better longevity. Finally, I did start to have both the hot and cold levers get a bit sticky. That is, harder to operate and they wouldnโt always auto close on their own...A light spray of WD-40 inside the valve/faucet body were the levers attach solved the problem immediately. Cleaned up excess with paper towel. Update 4-18-26โฆStill going strong,โฆcoming up on 10 yearsโฆ..upgrade to 5 stars

Thinking about instant hot water? I say GO FOR IT! We love it.
The InSinkErator Hot/Cold Wave seems to be a solid unit. As other reviewers have mentioned, neither lever on the spout will remain in the open position, unlike InSinkErator's fancy (and expensive) faucets sold separately. Wished the cold water would...for filling coffee pots, etc. No big deal...just a wish. The Wave faucet has a nice finish and looks great with our other satin nickel plumbing fixtures. Installation was straightforward. All you will need is an unswitched electrical outlet under your sink; a 1 3/8" to 1 1/12" spare faucet hole in your sink; and a 1/4" compression style feed from your cold water supply (straight off the valve, or via a "T" or via a water filtration system). 1/4 compression is typically used for ice maker lines and water filters. If you have these things and some basic plumbing skills, installing the unit is easy. The system works in an interesting (or surprising) way, at least to me. City water pressure is NOT always at the tank, rather the faucet valves are holding it back. Basically the faucet has two feed lines via a provided "shark bite" one to two splitter. The other end of the splitter connects to your cold water valve. (See picture). When you open the hot faucet valve, water is routed down to the tank and pushed back up yet another copper line and out the faucet. Why is this important or interesting? These tanks are notorious for the their longevity and possibility of leaking. With this arrangement, if the tank leaks, it will only leak out the 2/3 gallon it stores rather flooding your house. Regarding energy use. When initially installed the tank I added InSinkErator's dual outlet air switch InSinkErator STS-00 Dual Outlet SinkTop Switch . This unit switches the hot water OFF when the disposer is activated. It is basically the same price as the dedicated air switch and offers the added benefit of not overloading the circuit. Anyway, I put my "Kill-A-Watt" meter on the line and let it all run for a week to check the energy use. With lite to moderate use of the hot water (the kids love it for making oatmeal and hot chocolate...in fact I think it's their favorite part of the new kitchen), I am glad to report the instant hot water (along with a couple of short disposer uses) have only logged 4.87 kWH in 179 hours (7.5 days) of up time. I left the temperature at the factory setting, which tested out at 193 degrees--which seems plenty hot. Anyway, at an average utility rate of $.20 per KWH, The unit cost about $1/week to operate (4.87KWH x .20= $.97). I can handle that. Rated only four stars for the Wave faucets lack of a locking cold water...pretty minimal gripe.

Working well, easy install once every thing's in place
If you already have the needed power and 3/8 cold water connection this is nearly a snap to install. But I needed to add an outlet under the sink as the disposal and dishwasher were directly wired from a junction box. Added outlet with disposal on one and dishwasher circuit on the other. Keeping the dishwasher directly wired it gave me a plugin for the tank unit. Also needed to replace the cold water valve with one that had two 3/8 outputs. After getting that done I mounted a water flter (3/8" in/out) and connected to the new cold water valve. Of course the unit I got and perhaps most all are 1/4" so I needed a snapfit 3/8 to 1/4 connector. Dry fit the hot/cold valve from above (removed the sprayer to free up a hold) and the tank does need to be pretty close to it, mine is straight below and about 5" off the bottom. Water connections then pretty much snap together. I flushed the cold first to clear out the new filter. Flow is very strong. Perhaps the 3/8" filter system helps and its only a basic single filter stage. Some complained flow wasn't good but for me hot and cold flow beyond expectations (16oz hot in about 9 secs). Now I'm waiting on our first electrical bill after installing to see what the energy use might be and added cost per month.

Water leak from inside faucet part and poor customer service.
Let me first say this would be the 5th home I have installed a Hot Water system in, so I'm familiar with the product. I connected the system and immediately had a leak from the line side (water IN) copper tube internal to the faucet. Nothing I can tighten or alter there, it is spilling down the tube from inside. I spent 40 minutes talking with a customer service representative who kept saying how unusual it was to have a leak there. Well, unusual or not, that's where it leaks. She finally offered a new faucet which is what I asked for to start with. I'm unsure if she said I have no warranty now or what. Two of us listening and still couldn't figure out what is happening. She would not take an email to keep me updated as to my complaint or the shipping. I will be happy to update my review if I receive a new faucet that works. However the conversation with customer service was very difficult. UPDATE: I received a replacement faucet late Friday night. However, it is the wrong one! I now need to wait until Monday morning to contact them, again. Remaining hopeful!

So far so good!
So far so good. Love the durability and look of the faucet which matched well with everything else. The noise from heating is not extremely intrusive, but not silent. Does not bother us at all. Cold water is more room temperature, which is actually what I wanted. However, this might be a problem for others. Our cold water comes out of the frig. Unit was installed by our contractor during recent kitchen remodel - connected directly to our reverse osmosis system under the sink. Overall a great purchase. Was a little surprised with the packaging when it arrived, was shipped without an outer box. Not damaged, therefore did not contact the seller or amazon.

Spout too short and handles are inconvenient; not compatible with RO
The dispenser on this model is too short. It's stubby, inconvenient for filling bottles etc. The handles are also tiny and hard to reach. The handles spring back when you let go, so you have to hold it down the whole time. This makes sense for the hot, but not for the cold! I much prefer a handle that you can leave on then turn off when done. So I returned this for the HOT-250 model, which is much nicer. Longer spout, more elegant and ergonomic, and a cold handle that doesn't need to be held down. Also note: this model is not compatible with reverse osmosis system: the tubing is copper, which reacts with RO. The HOT-250 model has plastic tubing so it is better for reverse osmosis. Too bad the listing doesn't mention this!

works great!!
We have been using this now for about a month, works great!!!!!!!!!! During construction I misplaced the nut to fasten it to the counter and I used a nut for a vanity drain got me out of trouble. My wife makes tea every morning I had to turn it to max. The duel tap is awesome I connected my RO water to the cold side. One thing to watch for, don't store plastic bags under your sink it gets pretty hot we caught it in time and now we keep the cabinet clear. I would recommend this product to anyone, no more carrying 18L water jugs from the grocery store!

The product is great. Every single one of our guest has been blown away by this product and how well it works (well, it serves hot water) Installation, like others have eluded to, is a breeze as long as you have the holes pre drill in your counter top. Here is a list of highlights. Pros: - Temperature settings to let you set the desire temperature - Hot water on demand, great for tea and heating up baby formula - Simple design and it's tucked away in the cabinet - Build Quality, solid construction on the tap and tank Cons: - I wish you can open the can to clean. I can only imagine the calcium build up and the effect it may have on the unit - It is rather loud and can be heard over conversations - cold water comes out at room temperature Setup: Installed this with a Watts Premium Water Filter system, works great!
