A most subjective review of the TENS unit.
I must stress, as I indicated in the headline to this review, that by the nature of what you want the TENS machine for and the medical state of your nervous and circulatory systems will have a vastly different results and are thus purely subjective. My condition is that, 43 years ago I had my L1/L2 disc collapse and it was partially removed after about 4 months, during which time I incurred a massive amount of nerve damage and was, for a year and a half, paraplegic. 10 years later, the remains of that disc collapsed again and so did my L2/L3 disc above it - completely inoperable due to the mess left from the first operation. So, my experience is that I have had limited to no sensory nervous system below the waist for over 40 years, this resulted in a lack of the normal wave motion muscle contractions that circulate blood through the legs and feet. I've started to get some feeling back (nerves regrow at a rate of about 1mm/year) but, it's patchy and sometimes wrongly "wired" (pressure on a part of my leg can cause a pain sensation in my stomach area!).I wanted to try the TENS machine to see if I could stimulate the muscle (motor nerves) to help reduce oedema in my lower legs, reduce pain in my left knee (no idea what causes it but a "mis-wired" nerve is the likeliest candidate). My first trial was rather underwhelming, I couldn't feel anything at all even at the highest pulse settings (I'm using the circulatory mode, a "Cupping" animation on the unit's display) but, perseverance and trial and error have got me to the point where I can feel a pulsing sensation between the two contacts. It's too early to say if this is proving beneficial or not (I'm having to do other things that don't involve the TENS machine so, results may have nothing to do with the TENS unit). As a generality, the machine is easy to use (it is a little short on explanations but includes an acupuncture chart, to match the acupuncture setting I presume, which I haven't tried yet - ulcers on my ankle areas precludes several of these being attempted as there's nowhere to place the contact pads), has a surprisingly long life once fully charged and is small, light and mostly intuitive. I can't give a recommendation as such as use of a TENS is a discussion that I think is best had between you and your doctor or physiotherapist however, should it be deemed of benefit then this is a reasonably priced, easy to carry and use TENS unit that will, I'm sure, fit the bill.P.s. If buying the tubes of contact lube, ignore the instruction to "apply liberally" and apply a thin layer where you wish to affix the contact pad - too much lube makes it impossible to keep the contact patch in place and is a waste of the lube, as the surplus has t be wiped off to avoid spreading the stuff onto every available surface!

Terrible manual
Wanted to use this to relieve tension in my lower back and knee pain from running.I came across the manual which was about as useful as a chocolate fire guard. The booklet (barely) tells you of the 24 settings. Now you have 6 circles each with 4 modes within. They list the modes but don’t really explain each or which is which so it’s a lot of guess work!Other than that the machine looks great, small and lightweight. I will have a try at translating and see how the product works tonight!

Wow
After just two treatments lasting 20 minutes each, the acute muscular pain in my lower back down to my calf has eased considerably. Very impressed.

Won't be buying again!
Have many issues with this item the major issues is with the instruction leaflet enclosed with it, poorly printed, in near impossible size of font to be able to read correctly, translated from Chinese by someone who could not speak correct english and virtually pointless if not down right dangerous in use. For a quasi medical item this is NOT acceptable when it might be used by inattentive people who have no time or skill as to what they are attempting don't buy it's a waste of money
