Rise: Rock God, Book 1

Okay
I'm still not sure how I feel about this story. I was not a big fan of the main characters, Gia was way too immature and never stood up for herself, she would also hear one bad rumor and run away. Rhys thought he could solve all issues with sex. If Gia wasn't crying and running away, they were just having sex. I did finish the story and I felt like it could have been better, it would have been nice to see that Gia had mature from the pass into the present but it's like she never grew up so it's like time never happen.

Rock God rocks his magic 🎸
This book has everything you want in a book. It's got the history on how Rhys and Gia know each other and how Axel comes into the story. This book will draw you in with all the intense vibe of what a rock n roll has to offer. You will see the flaws of each band member but Rhys are the only ones front and center in this story. He is know as a ROCKGOD and you get that feeling of the magic he has with his music. Gia and Rhys connection is like an electric current that they just seem to not be able to run away from but can feel in each other as they find that they give each other what they needs like no one else has in their past. Once Gia's brother Axel finds out about her and Rhys, Axel's wedding is full of shenanigan's that I never expected to laughed so hard about but the next book in biker series is going to be a doooser of a ride. As Rhys and Gia find their way back to each other in a grand gesture of a Rock n' Roll boom box, this book is a page turner with intensity, heat and emotions that will not disappoint. Robbins has another hit with this series of flawed rock n' rollers. You do not want to miss out this series.

Sensationally angsty and steamy
Talk about ANGST- Rise is overflowing with it. From their unforgettable and forbidden beginning to their ensuing chaos, Rhys and Gia are nothing short of steamy, emotional turbulence. But boy are they compelling-the reckless, sinful rockstar and his bold and devoted muse. These two have a chemistry and an intensity that is practically a palpable beat-an arresting melody just thrumming off every page. What a wild and entertaining journey these two take- a story befitting these two uniquely daring, but guarded, souls. Completely consuming from start to finish! This is a story told in parallels- past and present, desire and fear, risk and safety. It all begins in a garage- one full of unrealized hopes and dreams and a childhood crush, with a teenager who later finds himself as a Rock God, the bad boy front man of the (hopefully ironically named) Stuffed Muffins and his best friend’s much younger littler sister that idolizes him. Years later Rhys has even more fans, but his one true fan remains the now grown up Gia. Armed with naive courage and years of longing, she decides she’s finally going to land her leading man as she cleverly engineers her way to being on tour with the band- and sparks fly. But these two have a love story that is far from serene- heartbreak, toxic mistrust, mistakes, and misunderstandings combat with their undeniable need for each other. This is a couple that takes years, and multiple chances to get it right.Rhys is just delicious- edgy, a bit broken, controlling, and obsessive, he’s the quintessential rocker alpha. Parts of him are deeply flawed, like his selfishness and his emotional repression, yet he has a magnetic charisma and a hardened vulnerability that makes him as endearing as he is frustrating. And Gia is just fantastic- she has a youthful vitality and optimism that make her shockingly bold. I loved her fire- her sass and resilience and fortitude. But, she has a soft and open heart- one that beats for Rhys. And soon, she learns that his heart beats for us too. But their age gap and familial challenges are the only sources of conflict between them. Cassandra leans into the trope, and the rockstar lifestyle- drugs, groupies, scandals, press, artistic demands, and travel- all work in concert to try to dismantle their fragile but intense beginnings. Things are just complicated- and when their feelings are already complicated it’s a recipe for a really messy situation….and MESSY it is.While I didn’t always understand their choices, I loved how Cassandra stayed true to them. These are two people trying to figure out how to love each other under extraordinary circumstances, when they both have some baggage. That’s not easy- and while at times I wanted to shake them to just trust each other, to just TALK IT OUT, I just had to sit back and let these two beat to their own drum. Their intensity, their chaos, because both are a bit lost. Rhys has lost his real self and been replaced by the rockgod, and Gia has somehow found an existence that only matters when she’s loved by Rhys. Their own struggles and their unhealthy foundation makes for explosive emotions and riveting chemistry, but also for mounds and mounds of angst. The longing, the push and pull, the irrational draw to each other. But the magic is that they find each other not just in each other’s hearts, but also by breaking them- a painful journey that has them figuring out how to refind themselves just as much as trying to refind their way to each other. And, an added bonus, is we get loads of character cameos along the way to spice up the story- especially since Gia just so happens to be the little sister of Disciples MC’S Axel. Now that’s one brother you don’t want to cross. There’s a lot of drama, so much angst, but oh my is this book sexy. Rhys is a poet with his dirty mouth, and I loved watching him corrupt and own the fiesty Gia. But I also loved their soulful connection- they quite literally consume each other, so much so it’s hard to understand how one heart beats without the other. But that’s their journey- figuring out how to survive without each other, in order to figure out how to survive WITH each other. Two hearts beating as one.

omg what a roller coaster of a book!!
I love this author’s work. I couldn’t wait to read about Axel’s sister Gia. (Axel from Ignite- one of the best MC romances ever). Anyway I usually avoid rockstar romances because they usually contain a lot of sex with OW which I hate. I will say that in this book there are no sex scenes with OW (thank God!) And there is no cheating. Some of Rhys’s escapades do come back to haunt him though. He definitely was not a saint. This review will contain spoilers……The first 60% of this book takes place in the past. I loved Gia in this part of the book. It took such guts to go after what she wanted. She loved Rhys since she was seven years old and when she was 18, and he was a big rock star-she went after him. I loved their chemistry. It was insane especially when he didn’t recognize her at first. Their interactions were hot and intense. As was their first time they have sex. She saved herself for him. He still didn’t know who she was and it was still (I hate to keep saying intense) but it was intense and emotional. He’s stunned when he realizes who she is, but ultimately he can’t stop thinking about her. They have the kind of magnetic connection that I live for in a romance. They fall in love—although she’s loved him her whole life. They are ripped apart by some mixed up circumstances. And honestly, I understand why she left. But I also understand why he let her go.The last 40% is present time and they are in each other’s lives again. I have to say that Gia frustrated me a bit in the second half. There’s a bit of drama. But the ending was spectacular as usual and I can’t wait for the next book!!

Loved The Rock God and His Muse. đź–¤
I recently discovered The Disciples MC from this author and loved it, so I was excited to read a new Rockstar romance series that crosses over some much loved characters.I loved reading more from Rhys and finding out about his Rise to fame with The Stuffed Muffins and all the ups and downs hes had along the way. I realky liked how the story flowed from past to present too.I really liked Rhys, yes he's a typical Rockstar who takes full advantage of his Rock God persona but underneath he's just a man who's dealing with the demons of his past.I loved Gia she's always known the real Rhys the boy she grew up with, she lived his past and knows how hard his life was before he became The Rock God.Gia fell in love with Rhys as a young girl, she knew then he was the boy she wanted to marry.Everything about Gia and Rhys's chaotic story pulled emotions from me, the intensity between them, their passion and pain, love and hate, anger, frustration and insecurities made me fall hard for them both.I can't wait to read more about the other members of TSM especially Nuke.

Rise
This story is set in two parts the past and the present. I found part two is just a repeat of part one ( the past) just set several years on from then with nothing much changed apart from them being older of course but definitely not wiser. When the fans and the band's manager refer to Rhys as Rock God I couldn't help but roll my eyes and smirk to myself as I found that really cheesy. The dialogue describing the sex scenes was crude and vulgar and didn't do anything for me other then turn me off rather then on and the scene where he had her crawl naked to him on all fours was a disrespectful and demeaning one and not hot at all I thought. I don't like the use of the C word to describe a certain area of a women's body and never have done. This is the first book I have read from this author and based on this story it will probably be the last as I skim read the last few chapters just to get it over and done with and have now deleted it from my library.

Great book with a great story arc
Got to admit with this one I actually really didn't like either of the characters we are following at first. The author did a fantastic job though of building them as characters throughout the book so that they became more sympathetic and relatable. This book is hot though and it is filled with drama, angst and groupies. Just what you would expect from an excellent rock star romance. The tension between the characters and even the band mates in the book is great. I loved the other band characters too and am really looking forwards to them having their own books in this brand new series.I really enjoyed this book in the end and think that the plot and characters developed excellently to draw you in as a reader. I'm really glad I persevered when I initially didn't like the characters book I love this book now and I really recommend it.

A great start to this new series
I went into this story blind. Not knowing anything, other than, it was rockstar romance. As I will basically read anything this amazing author writes. Her books are so good! Now this story didn’t have action and suspense, but it made up for it with all the drama, angst and steamy moments. I was still hanging on the edge of my seat. These characters are also connected to the Disciples MC, which had me really intrigued. So I ended flying through the pages of this book. Highly recommend if you love rockstar romance.

Not sure
Mmm not really sure what to think of this book.I really like Cassandras books, especially the Disciples.I didn't particularly like Gia or Rhys characters,he seemed to think everything could be resolved with Gia by having sex with her+to me she felt like a doormat. If you like chapter after chapter of sex(believe me there's plenty of those)then maybe you'll enjoy the book but I got fed up of it after a while. For me just an ok read
