Before purchasing, do not buy the recommended bucket from Amazon; it's the wrong size. The one recommended by Amazon is a UK metric bucket, the US uses Imperial sizingYou will see the 25-litre recommended bucket.Again, this is metric, not Imperial sizing. For those who do not know, what you need is a "5 US Gallon" bucket. It does tell you this in the description.Despite the reviews, Amazon does sell the 5-gallon US buckets.However, they are not the cheapest. I went with a brand called "Meguiar's". I believe it was around £22. I went with matching yellow. I wish I had gone with the black bucket, as the yellow-on-yellow bucket catches people's attention.The dome is where you put the peanut butter (I mixed peanut butter with chocolate spread), and the tiniest smear dab goes up some of the runs on the plastic ladder. I dabbed 4 of the runs, 2 dabs on the lid, nothing on the flipper... This patented version is perfectly counterweighted, unlike the cheap ones.It will catch a rat, but they will chew through the bucket after chewing through the peanut butter-filled dome. as stated, it's not a rat trap, Its for mice.Do not believe the Rat trap part it is 100% a mousetrap and works very well.set up is easy even a child can do it.Another note: mice release pheromones when caught.It's best to clean it and reset it every day.Be mindful that mice have very sensitive noses and will not go near the trap if it smells of soap suds or chemicals.Also, if you're going for the catch and release, make sure you are at least 2 miles radius away from your home in a suburban area or 5 miles away in the countryside,

This mouse/rat catching lid does fit the recommended bucket as advertised so don’t believe the reviews that say it isn’t a good fit.However, it needed a little more thought because I was trying to clip it on the lip of the bucket when it fits snug just inside the rim.We will have to wait for how effective it is.

Fits absolutely NO bucket!! I have dragged this around with me for 2 months to every shop I can think of that sells buckets of any kind (including buckets that already have something in like paint. That’s how desperate this got) and absolutely nothing fits!! Money flushed straight down the drain!! Not impressed!!

The recommended bucket on Amazon does not work. I happened to own a couple of these Meguiars buckets already, which obviously use the American design, and the trap fits on them like a glove.

Very low quality product, doesn't fit the bin it's paired with, feels like an untested item

I wanted this to work but it was ridiculously expensive and didn’t come with the bucket. It was almost impossible to find one to fit and we went to many shops and that was annoying. we got one almost right and had to duct tape it to make it work. We caught nothing and ended up chucking this all out. We did buy the extra long humane traps and they worked perfectly. Avoid this product.

I tried to do the right thing here by buying the genuine Rinne Traps item. In so doing I paid in excess of £31 for this item from USA. But my decision kind of backfired. There are a couple of problems:• Build quality is pretty poor with the product having a flimsy and brittle feel. I appreciate this is intended to be a low cost, mass produced item for simply catching mice in a bucket. It’s not a Frisbee. But I was expecting it to have a slightly more durable feel with some likelihood of lasting a reasonable time.• Here’s the clincher for us Brits and our European friends. This item is designed to be compatible with the ‘standard US 5-gallon bucket’. Unfortunately I cannot find any standard UK/European metric bucket that this device with sit on, let alone clip onto.So far it’s a disappointment and I’m going to have to fiddle with it to put it to any sensible mouse-trapping use.Of course what I don’t know with the cheaper alternative versions is whether they have simply copied the dimensions of the original US product, including the dedicated 5–gallon bucket compatibility, or made any attempt to convert the dimensions for a UK/European market.

Excelente producto, lo compré hace un año para mi negocio y en todo ese tiempo he atrapado no menos de 15 ratones. Facil de utilizar y de limpiar. Definitivamente recomendado.

This is the OG bucket lid trap. Don’t buy the imitation ones. I had ordered a cheap knock off on another site so I could tell the concept worked, but it was junk and fell apart.This one is sturdy (made in the USA) and has caught many many mice in the chicken run. I plan on buying another one.

No funcionó para nada, la rata se comió el plástico para llegar al cebo y destruyó la trampa. Seguí las instrucciones del fabricante, puse crema de Mani y semillas de girasol como cebo, pero la rata fue más agresiva.No la recomiendo para nada!

Advertised as American made product but received the Chinese copy. It was junk and broke in pieces during assembly. Can't believe Amazon would allow this on American made products. Everyone looses!
