Works great for the intended purposes! Just put in batteries, set it on your couch, and anytime pressure is induced on them, it sets off a high pitch alarm. Now I dont have to worry about my animals getting up on the couch anymore!

This is my second Scram purchase. 100% Effective. I own the long Scram mat for my couch. My dog only needed to hear the noise once and never tried to get on the couch again. His first impression was so permanent that I have never needed to replace the dead battery for the last four years. I bought the smaller Scram mat recently for a new chair. I plan to hide the unsightly Scram under the chair seat with the operating side (the power button) exposed on the side. That way, a human wouldn't have to manually remove the Scram mat before sitting down. I expect my dog will only need to try to get up on the chair 1x, hear the noise, and will forever be deterred. I really like that the Scram mat doesn't shock the pets. It's just a noise deterrant 1x, then your problems are solved!

Wow! My wife and I were at wit’s end with Rita, our 15-year-old diabetic cat with heart and kidney problems. She had developed a bad habit of urinating in several spots outside of the litter box. Despite thoroughly cleaning the areas after each incident, Rita kept returning to those spots. The vet said it was behavioral and recommended we confine Rita to a small space, such as a large dog crate, with a litter box for two weeks until she relearned proper litter habits. My wife and I didn’t want to do that because of the stress on Rita. After researching our options, I found out about the chair scram sonic pads. I purchased five of them to put in the problem areas and they have been in place for several days. What a difference! Rita has not urinated outside of the litter box areas since the pads have been in place. She has learned to avoid those areas and has become almost a model cat (she still is very demanding about being fed at the appropriate times). I’m not being compensated in any way for this review and I highly recommend using these pads for problem cats and dogs.

I am rewriting this review because my opinion of this product has changed. It has one drawback and that is the alarm is ear piercing, however the cat only sets it off for less than a second and that is all it takes. She is already trained. The humorous side is she now peeks to see if the pad is still on the chair. So MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! This is a keeper and we will not be returning it. It has also protected my cats health because she would frequently stand on the chair to eat a houseplant which would sometimes make her sick. I would recommend it to others.

We have a dog who hates Amazon delivery trucks and drivers (unusual, right?). When a package arrived, she would jump onto the couch in front of our front windows, barking crazily. She would get so frustrated that she couldn't get to the driver, she'd tear at the couch instead. Well, we've since redirected most of our deliveries to a remote locker, but not all of them can be, so some still come to the house. We replaced the couch and loveseat with new, so obviously we needed to modify our dog's behavior. These pads work like a charm! She jumped onto the couch once, the alarm went off, and so far she has not jumped up there again. We've had the pads about two weeks. Our other dog jumped up onto the couch and he couldn't scramble off of it fast enough. Now he won't even go near the couch. What a lifesaver these have been! Sure hope they continue to solve the problem for us. Of course, the cat just jumps onto the couch arm and then walks onto the back and lays down and sleeps. He can't believe the dogs are so dumb.

There are only two points on this product that emit an alarm. We had to press very hard to get it the alarm to sound. Totally useless as cat deterrent. Not only would the cat have to walk on the exact spot to trigger the alarm, but both the cats looked at the mat and had no reaction to the sound. Although I am not a fan of scat mats, this is not a good training aid for cats.

We have 4 chairs that we don't let our Lab and Boxer on. We have three chairs that we use chair covers on so they are allowed on those chairs. We put the Chair Scram on the front row of chairs, and they don't even try to jump on them anymore. Plus Chair Scram has an on and off button. It's funny when guests don't look before they sit down and the alarm goes off. Keeps us laughing quite a bit.

Fantastic, bought sofa versions which and still continues to work! I have 6 cats and now they have learned to stay off. No more washing pee blankets. Bought a smaller one to keep them off the piano. Now they learned to lay beside it :-)

J'ai 5 chats et j'avais essayé plusieurs méthodes pour qu'ils ne montent sur la table sans succès depuis que j'ai acheté le Chair Scram, ils ne vont presque plus jamais sur la table. Je recommande ce produit par contre il ne faut pas oublié que c'est conçu pour une chaise donc sur une table les chats deviennent intelligents et ils vont essayé aux endroits que le tapis ne couvre pas.

So far it has kept my cat away from an area that she has been peeing
