Amazon is offering "small" or "large". Both state "This life jacket fits infants weighing less than 30 pounds" What is the difference?

I'm not really sure why they have put sizing in the options because the life jacket that I purchased just says infant inside and up to 30 lbs. I will say that I bought the small because I was buying for my 4 month old that weighs 13 lbs but upon reading your question thought I would try on my 25 lb 2 year old and it also fits her. Hope this helps.

Is this life jacket u.s. coats guard approved?

Yes! It sure is! Wouldn't have purchased it if it wasn't Coast Guard approved. In fact, if your life vests are not approved by the Coast Guard, they can ticket you! I'd rather be safe than sorry with a great life vest for an infant.

You choose the size based on weight, not age. If your child is under 30 lbs, you would choose the infant size.

Would this work for a 22 pounder? And should I just disregard the sizes?

I used it for my daughter who was about 22 pounds for a boat trip. This brand of infant vest is one size that fits infants under 30 lbs. I think the sizing is a mistake on the seller and can be disregarded.
