Great all round product and service
Ive had this kit for a good while now, and also to the point where ive had to contact Topens direct for help and support so I think im in a good position to provide a real review. First off the product itself. A brilliant piece of kit. Well made and sturdy, easy to install yourself if you've a little common sense and a drill, and the instructions are very clear and easy to follow. The units are smooth, reasonably quiet and have a decent amount of features such as soft stop, delays to opening and closing and adjustable force stop. Once installed I had about 2 years of trouble free use and then one of my gate openers would operate open or closed for a short burst and stop after around 200mm of travel. I contacted customer support and spoke to Bella who was very helpful and gave ne a comprehensive list of tests to carry out rather than just sell me a replacement arm, although they were happy for me to do just that if I wanted too. Upon opening the control unit to conduct the tests it became apparent that a few small friends had got into the board casing and settled on the PCB damaging it. This was possible because stupidly I'd not sealed up 2 small cable openings so it was my own fault. I contacted Bella again who said the board was normally not available separately, but they wpuld be happy to send one out for a very reasonable cost considering the shipping distance too, and once it arrived I fitted it and this solved all of my issues so saving me buying an arm right off the bat that would have not only been far more expensive sice but also not required. The gates have operated brilliantly and easily as good with features of much more expensive products, and their customer service has been speedy and faultless. I'd highly recommend them.

Excellent product with amazing customer service
I needed a gate opener for a property in Portugal, and although there are companies in Europe, after doing a lot of research, based on reviews of the product and the customer service, I decided on the Topens. Because i could not get them in Portugal, I purchased them in the UK and had them shipped them over. All I can say is, it was worth the effort. The kit supplies everything you need, and some, they are easy to fit, instructions were simple to follow and they work perfectly. I also fitted the ET24 electric lock for extra security, which again was simple to fit. The hardest part was making the cable look good on the gate. My problem, not Topens. I had a slight technical situation which was handled quickly and expertly by their customer service. I would like to give special thanks to Chloe, you are a credit to the company. I woul highly recommend the Topens A8132 for both the quality of the equipment and for the customer service should you ever need it.

Great for the price, excellent customer service, voice activated
I installed these gate actuators a few weeks ago and they seem to be working fine after spending some time fine tuning their operation. They are very easy to install with clear instructions and there is also a video tutorial available on Youtube. Despite having light gates I went for the more powerful actuator arms because I was concerned about how they would hold without having a centre stop on the driveway. I found that in windy conditions they would start to flap around and was concerned about damage occurring. To resolve this I made the stainless steel rising stops ( as our driveway is sloped) shown in the photos to butt against a central stop and also found that if you set the arms to stop one slightly short of closed position and the other slightly past the central position they will force against each other to provide a firm rigid closed gate which resists wind pressure. I also added a lock as shown in the photos. I mounted the control panels within another waterproof enclosure with battery back up. I also wanted remote access operated by the Amazon Echo Alexa device so installed a Shelly remote WIFI module so that it can be button or voice operated. The kit represents great value for money but as to be expected there are some areas for improvement. I would have preferred stainless steel parts to prevent rusting and so replaced all fixings with stainless steel. The gates are operated with the supplied remote control (or in my case Alexa) but can only cycle through the operation so with each press it opens, stops, closes, opens, stops, closes and so on. It would have been nice be able to actively select open, close or stop with separate inputs on the control panel. Another annoying feature I had to overcome was that I wanted to disable the photocell on the street side of the gates on opening because when you open them for a delivery they will walk forwards and stop the open operation. I came up with a way of making sure this feature is only enabled on closing the gates. I'm hoping to do a Youtube video in the near future showing the installation and modifications I carried out so if interested keep an eye out on there. I had a slight issue after installation and found the response from Topens ( Joyce ) to be second to none. I received a prompt response within 24 hours and was sent replacement parts so was very impressed with the Topens customer experience.

Great units.
I must start this review by stating that I am an electrical engineer, which probably informs my opinion on this product. I bought this to automate some new gates, which are solid hardwood with a width of 3.2m and height of 2.1m. I was a bit apprehensive as these are quite heavy but I needn't have been concerned. In terms of installation, the user guide is very clear and logically laid out. The components are clearly labelled and everything is included to fit the units and get them up and running. The installation took about three hours and everything worked out of the box. One piece of advice I would give is to keep checking the tightness of all of the nuts and bolts on the moutings as any play is multiplied along the length of the gates and could give issues on closing. Topens, why not give some indication of torque values to help get these right?. After about 2 months, I had an issue with the main PCB. Customer care were great and identified the fault for me. A new board was swiftly dispatched and repair is now underway. Just waiting for snow to clear!

Great inexpensive gate openers
Great gate openers. I fitted them 6 months ago and still working well. I fitted an extra sim card operating switch so that I can ring the number and they open before I arrive at the gates otherwise if I used the remote (which only seems to work from about 20 meters), I would be holding up the traffic while they opened. The sim card operator works really well though and to be fair the remote works well if you have space to stop in front of the gate while they open. Personally I would like them to open a little faster but the speed is absolutely fine really. You need to put more than just your IKEA hat on to fit them though, but the instructions are clear and if you follow them properly you shouldn't have a problem. The plans to fit the actuators seem a little complicated at first but just hang in there and you will see how they work. Don't get your wires crossed though or connect them incorrectly because you will blow the board. They have a key to operate them manually if the power fails and you can adjust the amount of pressure they will apply before they stop. You can also set the amount of time they stay open and the speed at which they open and close. Given that I had never fitted an operating gate before this proved to be great kit that saved a lot of money against having to pay to get them fitted. Highly recommended.

Reasonably happy
So. Having fitted new gates, I decided to purchased these electronic gate openers. My gates are 100m from the house up a lane. I also wanted the gates to serve a purpose and be closed at night, but open during the day. To do that, I purchased an inexpensive WIFI gate module which is Alexa and app controlled, this in effect makes the gates fully automatic, also allowing me to programme schedules for closing at night and opening in the morning. it works great. Now the downsides. I purchased the heavy duty arms which are apparently suited to gates multiple times the weight and length of those I have. I did this specifically in the hope that they would then be more than capable of dealing with the gates I have. However, they struggle to hold the gates sturdily in an open position in wind, and in fact after a few windy nights I noticed that there was a lot of slack in the gate movement in the open position of about 8 or 9 inches. Re tightening the mounting bolts helped a bit, but Im not sure if these arms would hold up in a big storm. I would suggest closing the gates if the weather is particularly stormy. I have the electronic lock from Topens also, so when closed the gates are quite strongly braced agains winds. I would recommend buying the next model up from the spec for your gates to ensure the arms can cope. Also, one arm is about 4 seconds slower opening and closing that the other. I have approached Topens about this and await their solution. Given that there needs to be a delay in the slave gate opening anyway when the electronic lock is fitted (to give the lock time to disengage) , its not such a big deal. The power supply and brains of the gates are in two separate control boxes that must be mounted adjacent to the gates. Theres quite a lot of wiring to contend with, and although its not hard to wire up and get working, it took me several days to get everything tidied and connected the way I wanted it. I'm pleased overall so far. The remote blippers that come in the box work well, but I tend to use my phone which has the app for the wifi opener I fitted and this works just as well.

Very pleased
Just had these openers installed on our heavy drive gates. Working very well and pretty straightforward to set up. We live in quite a windy location and we chose these partly for that reason as they are strong and can withstand the weather. Also they’re very inconspicuous and don’t stand out on our fares at all. We chose them partially due to the colour aswell as our gates are the same colour. We will be getting a small battery to supply the UPS (supplied) if a power cut prevents us using them temporarily. We have a metal box installled next to our gates to house the gate board and ups but they come with waterproof covers anyway. I'm still trying to work out how to keep them open if I want them open rather than auto closing. Also, I got the brackets powder coated, partly to match the black gates and partly to prevent rusting. All in all very pleased with them.
