This was a quality-of-life saver for more than six months after my wife's broken leg. Sturdy, didn't rust, very adjustable, yet compact enough to fit in her small shower stall. Turns out, the slide is an important feature.

I broke my knee and had to be NWB (nonweight bearing) for 4 weeks then slowly ease into walking and normal activities over several weeks. I nearly tumbled trying to get in and out of a walk in shower (as there was still a short barrier to jump over). Plus, standing on one leg while showering was exhausting and dangerous and a standard shower chair wouldn’t help as I needed something to hold onto to sit and stand up as I was only using one leg. This product solved multiple problems. I used it in a standard size bathtub/shower that has a curtain. I put the handle side of the bench outside of the tub. That helps me easily sit and stand on my own. I can also drape my towel over that handle. The sliding over feature helps me easily get into the shower without having to jump on one leg dangerously over barriers. The chair has two spots to hold my shower head, which is really helpful so that I don’t have to put it on the floor while lathering my shampoo into my hair. I installed a lightweight shower head with a long chord that has an on/off button on the shower head. That pairs perfectly with this product. I don’t lean on the back of the chair or use the seatbelt, but I see how that can be helpful for people who need it. Given the structure of the chair, even when pushing the legs all the way to the wall side of the tub/shower, there are several inches between the side of the seat and the wall. It would be nice if that side stuck out farther. I do not remove the center part is the seat as I like to scoot over as far as possible on the chair to have as much space as possible between me and the shower curtain. That means I am sitting on 1/2 to 2/3 of the width of the seat. I added a third shower curtain to my rod to prevent any water from getting out. I tuck the internal curtain in under the seat. The middle curtain hangs inside the tub before and after the chair. The final curtain stays on the outside. With this setup, I have had no water get out of the tub. There are plastic hooks on the side of the chair to temporarily hold it in position either all the way slid to left or right. This is a great safety feature. I originally tried installing this chair over my jetted tub (believe the side was 21” high). Unfortunately, the product didn’t clear that height. This product has been very helpful to be able to take safe showers during my injury, and I am glad that I purchased it. My husband set it up easily.

I got this shower chair for ny 90+ year old grandma. It was easy for her to use and comfortable to sit and use the strap. It is lightweight and sturdy. It is also adjustable in length and tallness. Definitely a good value for the money.

One of the openings for the legs was too small. Can't advance the leg and I also can't remove it. It was very easy to put together. It only took a few minutes. It looks like I will have to try and return it. I just need a replacement part for part #3 and 1 leg. I'm having difficulty finding out if this is an option. Don't buy. I understand that parts can be defective, but it should be a simple process to get a replacement part. Which is another issue if you needed a replacement part in the future. The box isn't heavy but it is a larger box. It's going to be very inconvenient to return it.

This seat is sturdy, looks good but it's just too big for my apartment bathroom. Even though the weight limit says 400lbs, the seat is not meant for a large backside. I could not lift the slide locking mechanism to unlock or lock without getting off the seat and standing in the tub. The shower wand holder was unable to be used when sitting on the seat. I had to try to hold my shower wand while also trying to shampoo my hair, not an easy task. Also there is no way to get the shower curtain around the seat inside the tub. I had to put towels on the floor to keep the floor dry so I wouldn't slip stepping out of the tub. It would probably be good for someone who is smaller, has a large open shower, or a really large bathroom and bathtub. Oh, and maybe someone to assist them getting in and out of the tub. This seat is definitely not meant for an apartment sized bathroom/tub or a larger person.

My Mom had an old transfer bench from when she broke her hip 7 yrs ago. She's become less mobile & more frail since her broken hip. She recently broke her arm & can't bare any weight on it now. Now she's not able to scoot her bottom over on the old bench to get into the tub. This created a dilemma for giving her a decent bath. I was thinking out loud the other day that wouldn't it be nice if someone made one of these things that slid from one side to the other. I started searching the internet & viola! I found this sliding transfer bench & it works great. I was a bit worried it might not slide too well with a 140 lb person on it. I was wrong. It slides very easily. The seat is wide & deep enough to accomodate even very large persons. The bench is very stable & once Mom sits down we help her raise her legs one at a time into the tub & then it slides right over. There is a plastic latch that hooks once it is in position to keep it from sliding anymore. There is also a velcro strap on the seat that acts like a seat belt to provide reassurance to those afraid of falling off. This thing is so easy to put together a 7 year old could do it. No tools are required. Each leg adjusts independently to fit your floor or tub height. The rubber suction cup feet stick to the bottom of the tub well or even to a wet floor. You can adjust the front leg that is inside the tub, down a notch to account for the slope on the tub to make it more stable. Be aware that bathtubs vary in width. This chair should work well with most any tub but due to the leg design (it flares out a little for stability) the wide seat just barely goes over the inside wall of a standard 30" wide tub. If you attach a hose to your shower head you can pretty much keep most of the water inside the tub. I was very impressed by the price & quick service I got here from Amazon. This has enabled my Mom to get a nice bath now.

Excellent product. Is as described. Very sturdy. Slides easily even with 220 lb. person on it but does lock securely once in (or out) of tub. Unfortunately , bought for my elderly mother and her tub is an odd size INSIDE so couldn't fit it properly unless I used it in the middle of the tub which brought it too close to the toilet. Had to return. TOO BAD!! Really really like it. Would've have been perfect if we had a little more space. The only negative is that the adjustments don't allow you to adjust LOW enough for a short person like my mom (5'1") Her feet dangle above the floor so need to be careful til she is IN the tub area. Still a a bit higher than I'd like to see there, but manageable.

This looks like an excellent product - innovative design and well made, and easy to assemble. I would have rated it with five stars but we had to return it because the legs were not long enough, even when adjusted to the full height, to clear the edge of the bath. We raised this with the manufacturer but although they acknowledged our question about whether longer legs could be provided, they did not come back with any solution. With great regret we had to return it.

Legs too short to fit my bath, shame as it would've saved me a lot of grief. Got a full refund so can't complain too much.
