is the shelf life just one month from the first use? what if I don't use up the entire box in a month from the first opened date? do i have to toss it

No the shelf life is great. These are made for fridge freezer with the flow through sides but can be used as regular baking soda. I actually use it in my fridge for 1-3 months then use the baking soda and vinegar to clear up my drains and use it for other cleaning so it’s a double dip.
