Worth ever penny, sorry, nickel.
What I can say that others haven't? This actually works. I live in an apartment with shody build quality. You can feel the bass throughout the subfloor. Now with the sudude, it eliminated pretty much all vibration in the subfloor, walls tables, console, etc. I still have to fine tune the sub and settings but wow, the sub hits hard and tight. Not muddy at all as before. Plus my turnable plays much clearer. Will my downstairs neighbor complain. Maybe not so much as before. I'll have to try out other products from Auralex. Definitely a must have for apartment/condos or even home to get a better sounding sub. FYI, I have a Klipsch R-100SW. Probably not the best sub but sounds much better now with subdude.

Well made
I put this under my turntable and it really tightened up the sound. Nice piece of kit.

Perfect fit for the job
It cuts down the transfer of vibration from my bass amp , the floor and the wall. It also gives me a better fill. more bass from the speaker and not the floor.

Eliminates booming and reverb on hardwood floors.
Eliminates booming and reverb on hard LVP floors without losing any base. In fact it sounds cleaner.

Not a Miracle, Fairly Effective, and Handsome Anyway
I am running a Sunfire Super Subwoofer, and sub was on tile floor to side of main equipment rack. Listening room has a large rug in center, and is well damped for critical listening. For some musical content, the sub would cause house structures to vibrate to an irritating level, and unit would walk about the room a bit on extended bass-heavy music and film programming.Keeping the rubber feet on the sub, rather than using the spike feet, this device has kept the subwoofer where it belongs with minimal "hop." Much less unwanted vibration from furniture, etc. and the thing decouples it pretty well from the floor, while still allowing great response. Thought it would be more effective than it is, but it works pretty well for the cost. The construction itself is just OK. Was expecting a more technical type of foam, but this uses what I would classify as "packing-grade" material as its base. Wondering about the longevity of this material, and potential breakdown/brittleness. The top fabric is pretty nice, grippy, too, but looks as if it will become a dust magnet. Overall, compared to a lot of similar products on the market, this is of lower cost and from the majority of reviews, gains positive results. I'll vote on the positive side, and re-asses here later if needed.

Musical material sounded live and not like a boombox ramped up past clipping
On opening the box and examining the SubDude II, my first thought was "this is a seriously overpriced piece of plywood and foam".After placing my sub (Sunfire True subwoofer EQ12) on the platform and repeating all of the setup equalization, standing wave and phase adjustments etc for the sub and then for the entire speaker system combined, my only thought was "this is an incredible value". Virtually all of the subs coupling to the building was gone. No rattling windows and doors, no framed artwork vibrating on the walls, no subwoofer walking around the room, no small objects falling from shelves. Musical material sounded live and not like a boombox ramped up past clipping. The subwoofer could not be localized and simply disappeared into the music leaving only an enriched sound stage. LFE's in theatrical material set the mood and captured your attention as the director intended with out the distraction of localization of the sub and stray vibrations from building and furnishings. The annoying sensation that the sub was coupled through the floor directly to my but was gone (except when it was clearly the intent of director (ie Terminator 2 and 3) Finally I no longer have to drag a very heavy sub back to its proper place in the room after each use. It really did subdue an over zealous (1400 amps in the box) subwoofer adding dramatic sonic enrichment with out focusing your attention on the unit.

ESSENTIAL, absolutely ESSENTIAL
Every single review who said they help tremendously in apartment use were true. I don't know about those who say your neighbors won't hear anything at all, but they will help A LOT. I have a Shockwafe 9.2.4 and with those 2 10 in woofers this system pounds. Loud. It would literally make the wall shake to a point where my landlord told me if there's one more complaint I will have to move out. Since then I would never go above 1 on my bass settings. 1!! Now I finally got my Shockwafe bacl where it belongs. It can finally breathe. I still can't even come close to half of what it can handle but believe me the bass has been up to 3 all day volume 34 and no problems. I'll try going up to 4 soon, carefully of course. I haven't even talked about the actual bass itself. Those reviews are true as well. The bas does sound better. It sounds cleaner. Like it has better resolution. Best way I can explain it. It's like listening to Spotify then you get hifi headphones get a subscription to tidal and listen to a track in HiRes audio for the first time. It's still the same song you've heard a thousand times, but it's like you're hearing it for the first time. That's how these subdudes make my subs sound. I've used them for years but it's like I'm hearing them for the first time. Enjoy everyone

The Dude 2
I have a Martin Logan Dynamo 800X on a wood floor. It would dance all over the place unless I literally weighed it down with a 35 lb dumbbell on a folded blanket. This was not a result of playing music trying to wake up the neighbors but from watching movies at much less than theater volumes.Prior to setting the Dynamo on the SubDude 2 I ran a bass sweep on the ML Sub Control app. Per usual, dancing and rattling. As soon as I put the sub on the Dude 2 it stopped. There was even less rattling of picture frames hung on the wall. I played a couple movie clips with some deeper bass and the sub didn’t move at all even at elevated volume.I will probably play with the sub’s app settings and dial in even more low end as now it is much cleaner and it won’t sound as if everything is going to fall off the walls!I was a little surprised at the cost but don’t know what to compare it to. The “foam” at the bottom is not what I was expecting and felt more like memory foam but stiffer. The Dynamo 800X is well under the weight the Dude 2 can support. Quality usually costs more and I can say this did the trick for me so I feel it was a worthy investment.

Surprisingly effective
I purchased the Subdude as my last "hail Mary" before potentially being forced to replace my subwoofer with a higher-end sealed sub. I was experiencing ongoing bothersome bass issues with one of my home theatre setups. Hardwood floors with a Paradigm front firing, rear-ported sub, in the front corner of the room, resulting in boomy, uncontrolled bass. It was like this ugly wall of loose, muddy bass was consuming the whole front wall where my TV is, then reflecting to my seating position. Due to the room configuration, I do not have other options for placement of the sub.I started looking into room treatment options but there was no way I was going to install ugly wall mounted bass traps in a main floor family room, opposite a kitchen.I was wondering if the sub was transferring too much energy to the floor, which was then moving to the walls, causing additional resonance, generating additional sound waves, resulting in the terrible sound. I didn't have these issues when the sub was in my basement.I read hundreds of postings in different AV forums and countless reviews about the Subdude and how it will 'tighten up' bass, etc. I was thinking there's no way it can tighten up the bass but if it could potentially reduce vibrations, maybe there could be some value. Some 'haters' on the forums will say the subdude is useless and people's perception of the sound is strictly psychological. After reading a review from a professional publication, where they noted they always use an Aurelex Subdude when reviewing subwoofers, I decided to take a the plunge and gamble almost $90 on this product because I had nothing more to lose... it couldn't possibly make the sub sound worse.I installed the Subdude, actually upped the volume on my sub by 1 notch, then re-ran Audyssey room correction on my receiver, so the gain would be at -4. SVS recommends adjusting gain on the subwoofer so post calibration, it's set between -4 to -8, so I took their advice for my Paradigm sub. After manually adjusting speaker crossover settings in my receiver, I was ready to test. The sound quality difference was drastic. That ugly "wall" of bass I referred to earlier is completely gone. I am finally enjoying my sub in this room. The bass is now much cleaner and is not longer an annoying distraction. The bedroom above the sub also has less bass transfer via the walls but loud low frequency soundwaves will still easily penetrate through the floorboards.Although it may be cheaper to go to the hardware store, get a piece of wood, put some foam under it and built it yourself, I'm not sure you would get the same results, as this is firm acoustic foam and not something your furniture would be shipped in.Not all rooms are the equal. You'll have different furniture, flooring material and objects that affect sound reflection and absorption, so your results may be different but this Subdude solved my issue and saved me from potentially dropping $1000+ buying a new sub and I may have ended up with the exact same issues. I was hoping the Subdude would give a marginal improvement in sound. I was shocked how much difference it made in my situation. I'm now considering buying another Subdude for a different subwoofer. No regrets.

Works fantastic! Happy neighbours and other members of my household!
I bought this with a pinch of scepticism wondering if it would actually work for me. My new subwoofer system had been rattling, shaking my bedroom floor and most importantly, disturbing my neighbours as well as anyone sleeping later in the night. After some brief testing by walking around the house with this in place, and my subwoofer blasting, I can confidently say it reduces leaking low frequencies and cleans up any subwoofer rattle. It works! I am now able to play my music, or play games, a little comfortably louder at night without the fear of keeping anyone awake because of the rattling. The quality of the product is alright, but it essentially is a bit of wood and some foam. It's a rather simple, but very effective product. The value of this is really depends on how you'd use it. If you're living in a flat/apartment and want to prevent complaints from your neighbours while effectively allowing you to increase the volume more, I'd say it's worth your money in the long run. It has quite a sleek look, I appreciate the simpleness of it. It fit under my desk perfectly and took up barely any space at all.Overall, I rate this product a 9/10.10/10 for sound clean-up and leakage prevention7/10 for pricing... again it's just a bit of wood and foam, but they claim they have a high density foam that isn't quite like other brands. Whether that's just marketing bs or not, I have no idea. But I don't want to test it out either because this still works for me.

📻Woburn III
