Q: Anyone have experience with both this remote and Magic Lantern? Any recommendations? I shoot landscapes with a Canon 6d. Is this worth the extra money?

I don't have any experience with Magic Lantern, so I'm not sure why you need a Timer Remote. I use the Timer Remote for long, multiple exposure astro photography with an EOS 6D... and am very happy with it. Recommend that you look at the specs for the Timer and see if it meets your needs. I'm impressed with the product.

Yes you can take instant shots. Delayed timing and intervals are additional features actually

Q: Can you use this with the 1dx mark ii to move the focus box around then select a new focus point?

No, It is only a shutter release and time lapse timer

If the cord were longer and there was an off switch it would be a good accessory.

There is no turn-off button........ The battery is always in use. Also feels cheap but very highly pricey.
