Hinge Outlet Satin Nickel Wood Screws #9 X 2 1/4" for Residential Door - 24 Pack

I purchased these screws to hang solid core interior doors. I used one of these longer screws in the middle screw hole of each mortise on the door jamb when attaching the door hinges. And then I used the regular shorter hinge screws in the other holes. I did this to give the door extra strength with the longer screws into the door jamb. These screws held up very well. They did not strip at all and I used an impact drill to install. And they look great against the satin nickel hinges. I highly recommend them.

The previous contractor used half inch screws on a heavy door. Playing catch up with house maintenance. This was the lowest price I could find anywhere for 2 1/4 inch screws. Love that they have a satin nickel finish which matches the satin nickel hinges I got for repairs. These screw in easy and did not break, which I was afraid of with the torque that was needed. Highly recommend these!

I don't have a hardware closet or shed, so these were purchased out of sheer laziness. These screws seem about on par with decking screws, and were a great replacement for basically double-sided-tape grade screws which come with a standard door strike. I genuinely think someone would take the door frame out before these screws gave way. Expensive for so few, but great when you aren't storing screws in a bin or shed.

Nobody spends much time looking at hinges, let alone their screws. That is a good thing because these are regular silver Chinese screws and calling them satin nickel is a real stretch. They are adequate but certainly nothing special.
