I I like phosphatidyl serene and have used it a number of years on and off. I think that the gel caps are the most potent and effective forms of this nutraceutical. It comes in capsules and I don't think those are as effective at least not for me. But when one has brain fog or moments of poor recall you begin to think that you're losing it. And it's disconcerting at best and worrisome at worst. I found this nutraceutical to be most effective for my needs. I just wish that this company gave you more of it for the price tag you pay but alas good things cost money. Anyway glad to have PS in my diet and this Brad is the real deal natural factors. Keep in mind I'm not a healthcare practitioner or doctor trying to recommend or cure anyone of anything. These are simply my own opinions from my own research and your results May Vary

I don’t know why this is so so much better than any other PS supplement out there.

This stuff is wonderful and I've found this brand works best for me. I suffer from insomnia and cortisol spikes around 3 to 4 am which leads to all kind of energy problems throughout the day. So, I use this to even out my cortisol and reduce stress for better sleep. I start by taking one around 5 pm, and then continue with one at 7 pm, 8 pm, and then one more right before bed (4 total). I also take a few other supplements to help sleep along with prazosin, which has done wonders for sleep quality. I take all of those under doctor supervision, along with PS-100 and I haven't slept this well in years. I finally have energy during the day and don't fall asleep at my desk. This is a magical cure-all supplement, I take supplements in conjunction with lifestyle and diet modifications to support my unique body. A big part in getting your health on track is sleep, but if your body is really out of whack, it's okay to supplement until you can regulate everything and are able to sleep on your own. This helps for sure, but don't expect miracles if you aren't doing some work on your end too.

I'm giving 2 stars because the product itself is not awful (as in no awful other ingredients or manufacturing flaws) but not only it didn't work for me, it also gave me some pretty annoying side effects. It's always important to keep in mind with supplements that everyone reacts differently to things, so take the reviews with a grain of salt. In my case I bought this supplement to help with insomnia that was caused by an abnormal cortisol cycle (likely related to my other health issues, chiefly CFS). Normally the production of cortisol spikes in the morning, and decreases during the day reaching the minimum right before going to bed. This because cortisol, among the many effects it has on the body, is also a stimulators hormone. Now in the morning, that is good, but in the evening an excess of cortisol would make it very hard to fall asleep. After a saliva cortisol test, we realized that my cortisol cycle was the opposite: low in the morning and high in the evening. The holistic Doctor who was treating me at the time suggested then to try PDSerine in the evening, because it's supposed to increase the break down of cortisol and therefore lower the cortisol level. I tried PDSerine for two weeks and unfortunately not only it didn't help at all with the insomnia and the difficulty falling asleep. It also caused some moderate depression during the day, that disappeared as soon as I stopped taking the PDSerine. If you found this review helpful, I'd appreciate it if you click 'yes' below.

I honestly cant say if these worked. I stopped mid bottle, mostly because of being too busy. I read so many good things on this I am going to give it another try. 1/9/12 I have been taking them for about a week now along with a few other products. I am improving in energy and thought. I beieve these to be the staple of everything else that I'm taking. In my reading this would be number one. There is no single pill out there but with a little effort you can create a great "tonic" to help you feel better, read and remember, talk with people when you normally dont want to make eye contact. Good luck to you.
