Update 09/30/2017: My cats love these, we have been keeping 3 out at a time in various rooms around the house. I have it as part of my Amazon Subscribe and Save and I rotate out the most ragged one. Recently there's been a design change, the cardboard is definitely more sturdy and it's somehow treated with catnip so the package does not come with the catnip separately. It's nice that it's more sturdy, it seems like it will last longer. And if your cat likes the new set-up I can see that you'll have less mess. My cats need their nip so I continue to sprinkle with catnip, which I have on hand. It looks like the price has gone down, so, overall, you may have less mess and longer use but you may also need to purchase extra catnip. Adding a picture of our mama introducing to her babes for the first time! Cats all love it! Have chewed it apart a bit, we've taped the corners up with packing tape. Decided to include it in the monthly subscribe and save order, so we'll toss and give them a new one each month. We have 3 cats, one giant and 2 smallish, bought to encourage them to scratch this and not our new furniture. So far it's working, none have scratched the furniture. Definitely recommend!

I bought this for my mom's cat , who is very picky about where she uses her precious claws. My mother had bought several scratchers and put them in her favorite place , behind the couch, as her favorite scratcher IS the couch, instead of the many scratchers placed there for her use. After reading the reviews on this super scratcher, I felt pretty good about ordering although my Mother was still skeptical. Let me tell you that as soon as we placed it behind the couch, she started using it and has not scratched the couch since! This was a joyous moment as she ignored all the others. Now she even lays on it! This little cat scratcher is a life saver! I got the double wide and it is plenty big for her to get her scratching done and lounge on ( she is about 7-10 lbs). I was impressed with its durability. She started using it about a month ago and scratches the heck out of it and it still has a lot of life left in it. I don't see a reason to replace anytime soon. My recommendation: The Kitty Kat scratcher is well worth the money spent.and as cat lovers know, scratcher prices can range from about $10 ( lowest) to several times that. We feel like we hit the lottery with this low priced scratcher.

My cat isn't one who likes to scratch a lot of things. In fact, the only furniture or other "bad" thing she has ever scratched is one corner of my boxspring at the foot of my bed. We started buying these scratch "pads" at Walmart, and placed it at the foot of the bed, on the corner where she always scratched the boxspring. Now, she just scratches the "pad" instead of my bed. It comes with catnip that you can periodically rub into the cardboard to make it even more fun for the kitty, and you can actually remove the corrugated cardboard pad from the box and flip it over when one side gets worn out, giving your kitty a brand new side to scratch away. My cat refuses to use scratching posts, or anything that you hang on a doorknob or wall, but she is on this thing multiple times every day. She even sleeps on it fairly often. I definitely recommend this for anyone looking to keep their cats scratch-happy without ruining the furniture or carpet. :)

I can't believe I found a cat toy that my cats really love! I ran out of the included catnip early on and bought a big bag of it here on Amazon. I have 3 cats. I bought just one at first and they were all taking turns, so I bought 2 more. They now all have a "happy place". I got them on the suggestion of another cat lover to keep them from scratching on the furniture. She also recommended that I squirt them with water if they clawed the furniture so I also bought squirt guns from here (which are still in the package). I haven't needed to use them. The scratch pads immediately stopped them from scratching on my brand new furniture! I will be buying these again and might even buy an upgrade. They do fall apart, but are still useable after about 2 months of wear and tear. I'll review the more sturdy one's once I get them.

My cat loves these! I have been buying similar cardboard scratching pads for my cat for a few years now and he loves them. They are easy to set up, and I usually use a little catnip to get him acclimated to a new one. In fact, this product comes with a ton of catnip that you can spread over the top of the cardboard to get your cat excited. Whenever I have one of these pads, my cat doesn't scratch any pieces of furniture or rugs. This allows me to keep my things nice while also allowing my cat to groom himself properly and get his excessive energy out. When I put this new scratcher down yesterday, my cat ran to it immediately and started plucking away with his paws. He rolled around on it for a while, getting the catnip all over himself. Then he remained glued to the scratcher for a few hours because he was so happy! The only negative feedback I have is that these only last for a few months and the cardboard pieces travel. There are times when I find little pieces of cardboard in my bed and it can be pretty frustrating. It just means I have to sweep a bit more.

Cats love this. Took awhile for them to realize they could scratch on it. But once they did, they went to town. Hubby took it out of the box it sits in and was going to toss it until I told him it can be used to put the scratcher at an angle. He put the box down (rather than putting the scratcher back in it) and the cats immediately stepped in it. It is just a tad too small for them to sit in, which a cat loves. It's now the coveted spot the cats seek out to sleep. So, 2 great cat items in one. Love it!

Our cat either loves this thing, or he hates it, because I can just hear him outside of my bedroom door, off in the living room, just givin that little scratcher box the business! I mean, really goin in on it! Look, I don't know what he's sharpening his claws up like that for, but whatever it is, he means business! The little guy must be gettin out all kinds of bottled up energy. Then, after he's done with the box, and all justa buzzin from the Catnip, he swags around the apartment with a swag that says, I'm ready to take on anything movin, anything. Then he lays down, and falls fast asleep; just like that. I'll say he loves this simple little treat!

Cat really likes it. I must say, it arrived many days late and was very unhappy BUT I went and bought one in the store because it was needed as my pet was going on a short trip with me. She really likes it. I have purchased others for just a couple of dollars less and slightly fancy lookingvwoth some contour etc. forget it. At least she seals this one out and jumps on it. The others she would walk past and go for the rug instead as if they didn’t even exist. So 4.5 stars on this one. Thank you!
