This thing really "sucks" Gets all the solder cleans cobbection godd.

While simple, it is great for it's simple purpose. It emboldens a sleek metallic and plastic design that's not meant to last forever, but it will get a few jobs done before you need a new one as it tends to melt at the tip. While being not electronic, it is still durable enough to handle your small desoldering needs without much damage done to the tool over time.

I used to have a bulb type solder vacuum, which has disappeared. Tried to remove a mechanical key switch from an antique (Avant Stellar) keyboard last week without any vacuum, thinking I could heat the two soldered connectors simultaneously to the point where I could winkle the switch off the printed circuit board. Mistake, I made a hash of it and the copper tracings separated from the PC, making it difficult to solder the new switch in place. I finally got a good connection with a lot of solder and a lot of luck. Could have avoided the whole issue if I had this tool on hand. Unlike a bulb, this syringe form factor does not require active squeezing to operated. It kind of operates like a gun, you press the plunger against spring pressure to cock it, locking the plunger into the fully depressed state. Pushing the button "fires" it, and the spring pushes the plunger back out, creating vacuum at the tip. The device holds vacuum well; fired with a finger over the tip, the plunger only went part way out due to vacuum, and it stayed in that position until I got bored and released it. It cannot be disassembled for cleaning, but the plunger has a pin that extends from the nozzle when fully depressed that pushes out the vacuumed solder.

Works ok, seems to be ok quality at a good price.

Used this with some low melt solder to save my RTX 4090 when the 12VHPR decides to try and melt down my PC. That connector has very thick pins and the board is also very thick so you need a lot of power to pull out all the solder and this works gear after added so low melt solder to the pin before.

I ordered this to use when replacing the joysticks on my PS5 Dualsense controller. It did not help and luckily I had wick to do the job. The issue is that the tip is hard plastic and did not give a good seal. It may work on larger solder joints, but the ones I needed it for, it was useless
