Excellent, cheap, and easy repair. Very sticky.
This stuff is great for a quick patch on vinyl or leather. It's very sticky (more so than duck tape) so be careful and use sharp scissors when you cut it as it can stick to them making it difficult to cut. The two person method is best to avoid rough or white edges. Be sure to clean the area first with a non oil based cleaner, liquid dish soap and water is best. Once the area dries, cut the pieces to fit and carefully apply and smooth. It's best to cut lengthwise and use large pieces to be sure to cover enough surface area for a good stick. Works best in a controlled temperature, we have a new HVAC and keep our house cool in the summer which reduces humidity. If you don't use central AC, have older inefficient AC, or you don't let your AC run enough I can see the humidity causing the glue to lose efficiency so in those cases you would be better off getting a patch instead. Overall it works great for a cheap and easy repair to keep the area from getting worse. We're very pleased with our purchase. I only wish I would have gotten the dark brown instead, but we like low lighting so from a distance it's not noticeable to guests.

Serious adhesion! Take your time and apply it right the first time.
Great stuff. Much cheaper than buying a new chair, especially since (in my case) the hardware and padding were fine and only the issue was the imitation leather flaking off. Usage: Within a few minutes of being applied this tape is relatively easy to remove and adjust, but it bonds to the surface quite firmly after an hour or so. It can peel the top layer off imitation leather, even in an area that previously looked fine. Also, try to tuck the edge of the tape into seams or into areas that will not see much wear, since that appears to be vulnerable part of the tape. Also take into account the direction of wear: you don't slide side to side on most chairs as much as you do front to back, so running the strips of tape from the front to the back of the seat will help keep it from peeling. This matters less in areas that won't have much sustained contact, like a dinged corner or the back of a chair.

It did exactly what I was hoping it would do
It's only been a week so far, but it seems like this will hold up well enough to get another year or so out of our couch. We have a 'composite leather' couch from a big box store that started peeling in several spots. One roll was more than enough to cover all the torn areas and we have a bit left over. The tape feels quite stiff at first, but it's holding well and staying adhered, and so far so corners are lifting or anything. The only downside is that when you cut the tape, you see a bit of white showing on the short edges when you stick it down - it's the adhesive threads showing, similar to the underside of duct tape. But it sure feels durable and the color blended perfectly. If you're taping over an edge, such as the arm of a couch, you may want to apply strips vertically instead to have better drape going over the corner. Pro: if you need to make a ragged piece of furniture last a little longer, this is what you're looking for. Cheap and easy, and not as tacky as silver strips of duct tape Cons: the adhesive sticks to your scissors, so don't use your best pair or a pair meant for fabric [I shudder at the thought]. They cleaned up with some rubbing alcohol and a few minutes of elbow grease.

HUGE fan of this tape...matches just about any surface you need but works best on flat surfaces...not so well on uneven ones.
I'm disappointed in having to leave less than a 5 star review for this particular tape. I've purchased the wood-grain colored tape to cover cords on my hardwood floor and it worked amazingly well. So much so that when I decided to move furniture around and had to remove the tape, no residue was left behind. It lifted right up. Yet the sticking power on this tape was less than satisfactory. The leather color is superb...so if you're purchasing this to use on a leather flat surface, you'll be fine. But I had to use this to seal areas on a leather couch that my dog got a hold of - it was the cushion edges part of the couch. So although from a distance, the leather matched up surprisingly well, the sticking power was sub-par. I found after a few days, the edges would roll up a bit. It's now just covering it and has no sticking power at all. It's been cold so it's possible in the warmer months, the sticky residue will hold better. So the long and short of it is if you need these tapes for flat surfaces, it's a 5 out of 5. For uneven surfaces, beware.

I am really happy with the tape. It worked perfect!

Product works well
One tough tape. This tape could not be torn by hand like normal duct tape; I had to use scissors. The color was a near-perfect match to the chair. Where the recycler mechanisms would pull the old tape, this remains solid.

Perfect match to real leather sofa-invisible if you don't know to look for it
Excellent match and not moving or pulling up on the edges at all despite dog on the sofa. Oh and you can barely see it at all. From a distance it's invisible!

The $9 furniture fix that WORKED! If you have appropriate expectations you'll be pleased!
I want to start by saying that I tried two different leather/vinyl patch kits before I bought this tape. One of them I bought on Amazon (see my other reviews). Because the tear in my bench was at/near seams, the patch kits that involve putting a fabric substrate under the tear and using a vinyl adhesive DON'T WORK. In fact, after applying all that vinyl glue, the tears looked even worse than they did before. This tape was sort of my last hope of covering up some big ugly rips and keeping it from getting worse. Our 4 year old son is autistic and jumps off of EVERYTHING. ALL. DAY. LONG. This leather/vinyl storage bench (which we use to store all of his toy trains and tracks) clearly just couldn't handle the amount of climbing on a jumping that it has had to endure over the last year even though it's of pretty decent quality (purchased at RC Willey). We're thinking of sending him on a college tour to teach frat boys how to trash houses more quickly and efficiently. In the meantime, if my husband and I threw out and replaced every piece of furniture that our son has destroyed, we would be bankrupt by now, but we also don't want our home to look like a dumpster. Enter this 'last hope' tape. After the epic fail of the early attempts to repair the tears using kits, I had VERY low expectations of this product. I figured if it sort of matched and kept the tears from getting bigger, it would be a win. In short, I was very delightfully surprised and pleased with the result! Before I go any further, let me just get your expectations where they should be. This is leather colored tape. Period. Ok? Are we on the same page? Great. Let's continue. My storage bench is a dark brown leather/vinyl, so I bought the dark brown version of the tape. The match certainly isn't perfect, but close enough! The tape is more chocolate colored than our bench which has a little more red tones in it, but I doubt anything else would be closer. See pics. What I love about this tape is it's completely idiot proof, which I always appreciate. If you can be trusted with scissors, you can use this product. Fixing my tears was so quick and easy and I'm really pleased with the result! Up close you can definitely see it, but from 10ft away it's invisible (and I have 20/15 vision in both eyes)! See the pictures I included of up close vs 7ft away vs across the room. Guests in our home probably won't even notice it which was not the case before! Also, there is a leather-like grain printed on the tape. It's not extremely pronounced but I think is a nice feature. What I don't love as much about this tape is 1) It isn't a perfect color match, but again, is close enough. I think they would do well to offer more colors with subtle differences in tone. 2) I had hoped that, like duct tape, it had more of a thick "fabric" feel to it, but on the contrary, this is very tape-y tape. 3) I would've loved for the underside/sides of the tape to not be white. The white edges, while very thin, are definitely visible up close, and should it start to peel up in the future will be very noticeable. All in all, for $9 I'm thrilled with the result and would ABSOLUTELY buy this again and recommend to other buyers, assuming you have appropriate expectations (that it's TAPE not leather or vinyl). This has saved what was an eyesore piece of furniture and will enable us to keep it at least another year or so. So far it has held up to our son climbing and jumping and he hasn't even noticed it! I hope this has helped some other poor soul in the same situation! I did NOT receive this item free or at a discount

Hace su función bien, los filos donde se corta se ven blancos y hay luego que repasar con una crema con color para unificar, pero una buena compra, llegó en plazo y todo correcto

Perfect match!
We had builders in over a year ago and they swapped over a door for us. In the process they had to shave the bottom of the door so it would fit which meant the vinyl 'leather' finish of the door started to ride up exposing the plain wood by an inch or two at the bottom. Needless to say they left it like that never to return and it's been annoying us ever since. Saw this tape and thought it was worth a gamble as it looked roughly the same colour and finish. It arrived the next day and we set about using it immediately on the door in question. We couldn't be happier with the result. The colour and finish is an exact match to the point where you hardly notice it as it's virtually an invisible mend. It was easy to apply and cut and was also the perfect size for the job in hand. Can't comment on the durability of it due to us only just applying it but it it's very sticky so hopefully it'll do the job and if it does end up coming away there's plenty more of it left on the roll. A little expensive for such a small roll but worth it for the finished result (see bottom of the door in the attached image).
