Nagrani Dried Sliced Mushrooms, shiitake, 1 Pound

The shiitakes arrived just in time for me to make Marcus Samuelsson’s Mushroom Consommé from his Aquavit cookbook for Thanksgiving Eve dinner with my boyfriend. He loved it. Perfect flavor. Good condition. And plenty to make more! I also used them in pasta sauce, cooked with short grain brown rice, and also simmered in coconut milk for fish. Very versatile. A staple to have in the pantry.

These are amazing mushrooms but they do need time to hydrate so hydrate them first thing in the morning or leave them overnight your best bet is to use boiled water let it cool down to room temperature then put them in the fridge if you're doing it overnight. I use them for sauces for omelets for mushroom soup they are great

Very affordable, but needs to soak a long time or put it in the blender as a soup thickener/base. The larger pieces are quite woody, but flavorful.

These were tasty, but hard to hydrate properly.

This product tastes nothing like shiitake mushrooms! The texture is awful too…tough and rubbery. I am returning!

These are great mushrooms! There must be the equivalent of 20 pounds of fresh mushrooms. Great to have on hand, no prep -just toss in what you need. Tastes exactly the same as fresh and very shelf stable. Will never buy fresh again!

The flavor is good, but be aware they must be chopped up pretty fine to roll easy on the paper. Not easy to light either, but when you get it lit, the flavor is very good.
