It's slightly longer than original equipment but it does work on my '04 Vibe.

will this fit an 08 scion XB?

I cannot confirm for scion. BUT can confirm that it is a little bit too big for 2006 Pontiac Vibe. It will work, but pushes the hood to stopping point on the hinges

What is the length of the hood support?

Not long enough enough for my van. It measured around 11 inches in length so I couldn’t use it.
