Q: Size of item is mentioned 'large' but item description mentions 10-13 mens (us shoe sizes 6-9) avlable. which one is large and why i see no options?

I'm a women's size 9. One thing to note is, there is no heal and they slip down all the time. The only advantage I'd you can wear with flip flops. Not sure why there is no options

Q: Will "one size fits many" work for mens size 10?

They do make this type of sock for men, sometimes they call them tabi socks. These would be stretched terribly thin to that large of a size.

Q: Are these a set of 3 pairs?

Yes. This is 3 pairs packs as picture.

Q: Do these fit a size 6 snug? I only ask because they are not offered in smaller size, hoping they might work for my 5.5 feet?

I just love flip flop big toe socks. Two things if you get the socks, one is if them seem to big in the feet then I would put them in the dryer to shrink them and then once your get them to how you like the fit then after washing again I would hang to dry!! Also ask the sellers if returnable once washed and dry and still to big for your. Good luck 
