Great boots. Much better than the expensive Red Wings I have. Well built and very durable.
Updated June 2023:It's been 3 years and 4 months since I got these Timberland Pro boots and I'm happy to report that they are still going strong. I work construction and wear them almost every day. I use Odor Eaters work boot insoles which I change every 3 months + another soft foam insole + the original insole and they are very comfortable. I got the boot a half size larger so it fits well with the extra insoles and I've never had blisters even when roofing. Roofing can be torture to your feet (and boots) because you are working on a slope so there are constant lateral forces on the bottoms of your feet. While the soles have worn some they are by no means worn out. The leather is still in very good shape other than a gouge on the toe of the right boot. It's just cosmetic as no water gets in through it. The stitching is top notch no rips or pulled out stitches. I figure that I'll get another 3 years or more from these boots.I did have a lace break and in a pinch I superglued it. I planned on getting new laces but haven't because I'm cheap and lace works fine. Superglue also works good on shoelace tips that are fraying.I treated the boots once with Never Wet for boots. I was expecting that water would bead up and roll off "like water off a ducks back", but it didn't really bead up although water doesn't really soak in.I would also like to note that I previously purchased a pair of these boots that were slightly too small. I wore them for a while but a couple of times after jamming my toes jumping down I got these a half size bigger. So I tossed them in the garage and planned to give them to Goodwill. Of course I forgot until about a year ago when I ran across them all dusty in the garage. Oddly the heals had deteriorated and were soft and crumbly. Not the bottom sole, just the foamy rubber rubber above it. I have read many reviews about this being a problem with Timberline boots. But this appears that Timberline has remedied the problem as my current pair has lasted a long time.Older review: Got a good deal on the through Amazon Warehouse. The description said there were minor blemishes but I couldn't find any. I'd just seen a pair someone was selling on Craigslist for $80 in slightly used condition. I paid $60 for these and they are new. They look new, smell new, and fit great. Some days I get home burned out and I've fallen asleep with these on. Just like a pair of slippers! Well okay that may be a little excessive. Just call it the Trump effect... The boots are great though no bovine doo key here... umm well I gotta watch what I say or I get an email from Amazon saying I was bad and violated someone in their department that looks for violations. They should put a list out of the words they allow cuz really it wasn't that bad. Did I mention the boots are great?

Pleasantly Pleased
These are actually nicer than I expected. Love that the hardware is metal and not plastic to decrease potential breakage. The elastic material connecting the tongue to the boot does a great job of keeping water out if that puddle turns out to be deeper than you expected. Nice and open toe for comfort. Especially on the longer hikes. Very durable. And not heavy! Weather hiking or working, my feet stay warm, dry and comfortable. Well worth it!!!

They're okay
They look good, function as they should, and hurt for a while just like everyone else is saying. I'm not too sure about the quality of the boots due to the lining Inside right up on the heel going up a bit has completely worn out. Constantly rubs up on my heels uncomfortably. I've had them for almost a month now and am honestly surprised with that specific spot wearing down so quickly. I'll try to remedy that myself but besides that, the boots are really comfortable after the break in period. Due watch out for the rubber collar around the ankle, that shit will hurt if you don't wear the right types of socks.

Pretty solid boot for a mechanic.
Been wearing these boots for about a week straight now and I'm quite pleased thus far. The construction seems solid and I did not have any of the poor stitching noted by a few other reviewers. I typically wear a 9&1/2 but decided, based on a few reviews, that I would go 1/2 size down (that was also partly because they only had size 9...) but I'm glad I did. They were indeed quite tight at first, and with the steel toe they don't provide much wiggle room, however, after wearing them anyways for about 6 hours the sole packed in just enough to provide a comfy fit. They are snug, but in a comfortable way. For that reason I would say they do fit as described, but consider a 1/2 size down if available if you are on the edge in trying to decide. As far as comfort, they are indeed very rigid and stiff when you first get them, I think mine may have been a floor model or something because my left boot was reasonably softer and had very very minor signs of wear. Either way, after about 3 days of wear they feel pretty good. I will also note that, if you go from wearing soft shoes and throw these on then they will still feel stiff and almost uncomfortable for a couple minutes, but then they feel fine. (I go from a desk job to a mechanic so when I change from loafers to these boots they feel like I'm wearing cinder blocks until I adjust). I also only lace them halfway, this gives me much more flex in my ankles (since I crouch alot), it also allows me to slip the boots easily on and off without tying laces each time and they still stay tight on my feet, this does make the laces really long though and I have to tie up a ball of laces to keep it from dragging. As far as the looks go, they are not that important to me, but if they are to you then know that the pictures are a little deceiving in that the boot has a much taller profile with a much bulkier toe then they appear online. The picture makes them look more like a shoe or an urban walking boot and in reality it isn't. Its a thick bulky work boot with a tall sole and rounded toe, and they are fairly heavy, I like the way they look, but it is different than the pictures in some ways.Overall I am impressed, I hope to avoid the reports of the sole separating from the shoe, but I don't expect it to be a problem. I am hard on my boots, but I also realize that mechanic work is much less demanding on footwear than some other professions, my biggest concern is fluids and slip resistance, which these seem to handle well.

Stylin & profiling, yet hella comfortable
I got these boots for my son. He is around 6'2 and I got a 12.5 in size. They fit him perfect and are definitely true to size. They provide so much more comfort for him on a long work day on his feet and he had no complaints and he loves them. It took a little longer than expected on shipping but all in all I am a happy customer and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable, high-quality, and very stylish pair of boots.
