Excellent rugged aluminum enclosure!
I've been using this enclosure for years and was so impressed with its performance that I recently bought another one. When connected to a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port, it consistently delivers fast speeds. The build quality is exceptional, being a single piece of aluminum that provides excellent heat dissipation. Despite being tossed around in bags, desks, and drawers and dropped on floors, my previous enclosure has sustained little to no damage. In fact, it's more likely to damage whatever it hits due to its sharp edges and the fact that it's made of metal. The only minor issue I have is that removing an SSD from the enclosure usually requires removing both end covers and pushing the SSD out. However, given its overall quality, I would definitely buy this enclosure again.

I'm fussy
And I like it.

Good enclosure
Takes care of the three concerns I would have for such an enclosure: effective speed (my drive gets 465MB/s read, 345MB/s write with this enclosure. I don't recall what it gets directly connected to an m.2 slot, but this is more than adequate for my portable drive needs.), durability (I've had it for a good while (more than a year) and haven't broken it yet), and heat dissipation (requisite for sustained speed with SSDs) . Works well, I recommend.

Good and Bad
As anyone who works with M2's knows, they can generate a boatload of heat. When you use them with a portable enclosure you dont have the computer's internal fans, which makes it even more important that they are able to get rid of the heat. On the good side, this is one of the best I have worked with for doing that. The enclosure is single-piece aluminum, and is very robust--no plastic other than the end caps. I did a 30 minute file transfer, and at the end it was rather warm, but still able to be touched easily. Now the not so good stuff, and why I had gave it three stars instead of five. Thank goodness for Amazon's return policy, because I had to go through four of these units to get two that consistently worked throughout the transfer process. One arrived DOA...it just would not boot up, and another kept going offline. That suggests to me that maybe their quality control for the USB boards could stand an improvement. Amended--The fourth unit referred to above went bad, but the good news is that a fifth one seems to be working ok. What I have learned not to do is to have them plugged in at start-up. Instead, plug them in after everything is G2G. My suggestion is that if you can deal with the frustrations and delays, then this is worth the effort, because the fact of the matter is that these enclosures have the most robust heat dissipation capabilities of their type on the market.
