The Complete French Grammar Course: French beginners to advanced - Including 200 exercises, audios and video lessons (The Complete French Course - ... Grammar, Vocabulary, Expressions)

I am a complete beginner to the French language. My family and I went to Paris this summer and when we returned I decided to go beyond the basic travel expressions I learned prior to my trip. I started with Pimsleur, which is an excellent program. I continue to work through all the levels on Pimsleur, however, what Pimsleur is lacking is grammar and conjugation. There is little to no explainations as to the WHY things are the way they are. They are hoping you will at some point see the patterns, but that is not enough in my opinion. I love all of Dylane's workbooks. I now own the pronounciation, conjugation and grammar workbook and follow along with the YouTube lessons each day. I also purchased her French Short Stories books as additional work. I highly recommend Dylane's books and channel. She is absolutely wonderful! She offers so much stuff on her website like pdf's of self-study schedules to follow as well as French TV shows, books, movies, etc recommendations to fully immerse yourself in the language. I feel like I have a private tutor helping me along the way. Don't hesitate to buy these books and have fun learning. Next time I go to France I will be much better prepared.

it's an understatement to mention just how PROFOUND dylane's teaching truly is, so i'm grateful that i was finally able to support her hard work!! i actually stumbled upon her two weeks ago through her pronunciation course that was recommended to me.~ i highly recommend her official site and youtube channel as helpful resources that provide both audio and video supplements. also, the book arrived safely in protective packaging, which is surprising, as someone who has personally received damaged books shipped via amazon. thank you!

This is really a very good book to work with for French grammar. It is helped significantly by the video lessons that one can easily access on YouTube and by the audio recordings that accompany almost all sections of this book. It is just crucial to have these recordings to constantly check one's work and, very importantly, to reinforce correct pronunciation. I'm not sure why there are complaints about difficulties in accessing these recordings. They are very easy to find, and Dylane gracefully responded to a question I had about them. My biggest reservation -- and it's significant -- has to do with vocabulary. There is no formal set of vocabulary words to learn in the various chapters. I know that the author has a separate vocabulary book, but this is supposed to be a book standing on its own. Several serious problems stem from this major oversight. First, one just cannot absorb a working vocabulary with any ease at all. Second, it is extremely difficult to learn the genders of nouns. Yes, there is an early chapter on gender, but it hardly addresses the ongoing problem of learning this important aspect of nouns throughout the book. I have to constantly use a dictionary to know both the meanings and the gender of the words used in exercise after exercise. This is extremely frustrating and is a major flaw in an otherwise excellently-organized book.

Great easy and simple not too complaced

I took French in school beginning in the 7th grade. That was in 1970 and poor Mme. Le Fessant had her hands full with a class full of 13 old boys who had their minds on many things other than learning a language! At least that was the case with me. I started learning French again last year using Duolingo. That's fine as far as it goes, but it's not easy to review what I've learned, and I need to understand the structure behind what I'm learning. For me, that means using a book that explains why something works and allows me to easily review what I've learned. Not knowing better, I bought the grammar course first because I was looking for that structure. Now I see from Dylane's self-study guide that I should learn pronunciation first, so I just bought that book too. Along with the conjugation course, I expect this to be a comprehensive approach to learning the language. I've only just started the grammar course, but already I see that it has the structure that I was looking for. When supplemented with the on-line video lessons and audio files, you get everything you need to master French. And Dylane is very charming and engaging. You want to listen to her, and she makes you want to learn. Maybe this old dog can learn a few new tricks after all.

This is a workbook with over 200 exercises that drive retention of the material. The entire book is presented in a series of outstanding videos on the author's YouTube channel, so you can actually see and hear the lessons from the book. Her presentation in the book and videos is clear and precise, and her charming personality and subtle witty commentary make learning French entertaining and FUN. It's very apparent Dylane puts an incredible amount of time and effort into her books and videos, which together provide the best French learning resources available.

I don’t usually write product reviews but I have to say this is the most comprehensive course I’ve had since I took French in college! I think learning a language really well requires comprehensive understanding of grammar. I use this book and listen to French radio station every day and I’m amazed at how much I’m learning and how fast !! Dylane, Thank you!!

I found this grammar book as super convenient the way it is compiled. Easy explanations of every topic followed by exercises to get even better result. Fully recommended.

Why there is no audio with this book?

This is a very complete book for reviewing and reinforcing French grammar. The explanations and exercises are very helpful for studying and practicing different grammar topics. I really like this author’s books and actually have several of them. This one is another great addition to my French study collection.

This book has really helped me master the basics of French Grammar, with very clear explanations, terrific free videos and audio and lots of opportunities to practice.
