Review: It has everything you need in one spot - I had been to NY over 10 yrs ago and my husband never had. It was exactly what we needed. It had the little places I remembered and the big stuff my husbad wanted to see. Can you find this stuff online? Sure, but it's great to have suggestions, pre-planned day suggestions and when you're traveling through the subway, you don't have wifi, so it's great to look through while sitting on the train. It's worth it. 2 tips I learned from my trip: 1. Buy tickets in advance. Everything from the any TV show filmed there, to the major broadway shows, to any of the amazing monuments will be sold out by the time you get there. 2. Buy a collapsible portable stool! My husband gave me a lot of crap for spending $30 on something he was sure I would end up carrying around not using. By the end of the first day he was eyeing me like he was ready to mug me for it. There is NO WHERE TO SIT most of the time and when there is, you don't want to sit there. Waiting for trains, in lines, heck on the street when you just need a moment. It is the best $30 I ever spent on desertcart and that's saying something. MUST HAVE. Good luck and travel safely! Review: Great for travel! - I purchased this guide, thinking that it would be a back-up to online research while on our trip to NYC. Turns out, online research was clunky, ad-saturated and frustrating, whereas the guide was clear and concise and well researched. The maps were spot on, and Iโd suggest this to anyone traveling to New York. My only regret is that we didnt use it for the food section, relying on our hotels to provide info on great places to eat. Turns out the hotels dont have very good suggestions, and we had some mediocre food. Based on my experience with the rest of the guide, I think we missed out on some good dining suggestions!

Get This Book Even if You Think You Know NYC!
I seldom purchase guidebooks, but I haven't lived in New York City for over a decade. It evolves a lot, especially with a pandemic. So before I went back and took my newer to NYC boyfriend, I bought this guidebook, which was the right decision! Frommer's New York City Day by Day helped us discuss what we did and didn't want to see. We used the best NYC tours in one, two, or three days to select our must-see spots. My favorite part of the book was the "The Best Neighborhood Walks" section. We added landmarks/points of interest we would have otherwise missed in areas we were already visiting. But most of all, I looked up the restaurants in that section to decide where to eat! So we tried out Red Rooster and Russ and Daughters. Both places were beyond amazing. Frommer's knows food - so trust their recommendations! I will continue using this guidebook every time I visit New York City!

Good if you like quickie lists
This isn't super complete but it is helpful in giving you lists of popular things. Also, no help in terms of the subway system, so points off for that.

Great NYC Pocket guide!!!
Born and bred in NYC. Love this book! Thereโs nothing like rediscovering your own hometown. I always love convenient pocket guides and this truly fits the bill. I bought it for my friends and family in NYC and in upstate NY. Believe it or not, each group liked it just as much! So, whether youโre a New Yorker or a tourist, this is the perfect go-to sightseeing guide!

Buy this for the NYC Manhattan map inside!
Planned a mother-daughter NYC trip in December. I bought this so I would have a paper map to reference in regard to sites, subway maps, etc. I referenced it multiple times each day - so incredibly helpful! Way better than using the map on my phone. There were some good suggestions in the book about where to go and what to do. However, I mainly used the internet for my trip planning, not this book. However, the map was FANTASTIC! Highly, highly recommend!

Good info!
Has a lot of good info, especially for first time NYC visitors. It includes all of the main attractions, museums, etc. It has different chapters to help narrow down what you are looking, including specific interests or even kid friendly activities. I really liked the chapters that included the best neighborhood walks. It has several different neighborhoods with a mapped out walk with several attractions/sites to see and the info on each stop. Worth the money!
