The meat arrived well packaged well sealed no issues with spoilage or anything. This item is more like prosciutto it is very, very thinly cut it is not a breakfast style ham steak that you would make with eggs. it is. however suitable for biscuit cut sandwiches or suitable for wrapping meat when cooking like you use prosciutto for. The fat and Rine has been trimmed from this meat and it is very very thinly cut it's not over salty as they use salt and sugar rather than just plain salt to cure the ham this is not your usual Supermarket type and it is salty it's cured with salt it says that in the description so for the people who say this is too salty you've never had country ham and must be from New York City for those who are from the hills of Virginia and Kentucky like myself it is not as expected because the fat which is the best part of it has been trimmed and the ham is sliced very thinly. Country cured ham has a different texture and aroma than Store bought chemically induced cured ham. The ham is good, I just wish it had been a thicker slice and had not been trimmed of all the Delicious fat.

Nice packaging great taste

It tastes fantastic (soak it if you don't like a lot of salt, but I love salt, so I go with it straight)! I fell in love with country ham when I went to college in the South, and now that I'm back north of the Mason-Dixon line, I can't find it except by mail order. So glad this is available!The seller ships it quickly and via 2-day mail, so it arrives in good shape.The packages are two full slices and a bunch of smaller pieces, but that is pretty much what I wanted. I could pay more for biscuit-ready cuts, but I have no problem trimming up the slices myself and saving a few dollars.

Too darn salty!

It was everything that I expected.

Like the flavor and easy to prepare. They are very pricey but grocery store that carried the ham at a much lower price no longer has them in stock. SO, dig deep and just pay the price if you want a good ham.

I hadn't had the EXTREME PLEASURE of eating real Country Ham in many years! Then I searched Amazon, and found this product (Dan'l Boone Country Ham). There's PLENTY in each package, and it's beyond DELICIOUS! Some have complained in reviews about it being salty -- to me, it seems no more salty than bacon.If you have never tasted Country Ham, please -- please --- order this, and taste what real ham is all about. This is so different from (and worlds better than) any of that stuff from northern grocery stores that's pumped full of water or "flavor enhancing solution."This is HAM -- as it was meant to be!

The flavor reminds me of OUR FARM - we raised and bred beef, pigs, poultry (including turkey), sheep - and NEVER have I been able to find something this reasonable IN PRICE with this MUCH FLAVOR and tenderness!!!!I am going to be a REGULAR CUSTOMER NOW - probably the BEST DISCOVERY I've found on Amazon in the 10 years I've been their customer!
