SWEATX Free and Clear Laundry Detergent for Sensitive Skin, 45 Loads

I tried everything to get the musty smell from my son's athletic clothing. Soaking in other products, nothing worked. I soaked several items overnight with this product and the smell came out. He now uses it for his athletic clothing. It is a little expensive, but not as expensive as replacing clothing. A little goes a long way.

Regular detergent was leaving my gym clothes and running gear smelling sour again within an hour of putting them on, even right out of the wash. This detergent actually solved it — no more trapped sweat smell in my technical fabrics, even after tough workouts. It's clearly formulated to cut through the odor-causing buildup that regular detergents just mask, and it rinses completely clean without leaving residue that clogs performance fabric (which I think was part of the problem before). No overpowering fragrance either, just genuinely clean-smelling clothes. Safe on all my moisture-wicking gear, no fading or breakdown of the fabric's stretch. This is the only detergent I'll use for activewear now — total game changer for anyone who works out regularly.

This team really does a great job on stinky sports clothes. It's not just scented to try to cover it up, but actually gets in to clean the material.

NO MORE STINK. I'm a runner with tons of stinky shirts, shorts, socks and other stuff. ONE wash with this got rid of years of stink. Amazing stuff that works - even on years-old stinky clothes. Must be witchcraft or something... 😂 Seriously phenomenal laundry detergent.

I go hard on my fitness, so my workout clothes often end up drenched in sweat, which then dries into the clothes. They still smell even after I wash them, and drying them again only bakes it in. I have some clothes that had 5+ years of baked in sweat smell. I've tried a couple other "smell removing" detergents and they were basically worthless. Not this one. ONE WASH with Sweat X, and the reek is gone. ONE WASH! Needless to say I'm very happy with this.

Updated after about 4 months of use. On the last of the 4 original bottles. Below is my original review (noted as such). I'm going to go back to the slightly more expensive product I was using before. I had more than a few gym shirts that still retained 'gym funk' after using this product. I even upped the amount of it I tried. Doubling the dose helped a little, but not all the time, and at that point, it's on price point with 'Out Pro Wash' two bottle packs (what I was using before), and that product did a superior job and had better packaging (though not perfect packaging! Especially when Amazon would put it in a box with something heavy smacking into it). (Original review below) I ordered a 4 pack of these, because it was more cost effective. The nice part was they came in their own box because of this. So I didn't experience some of the issues others had with bottles leaking in transport due to being in a package with other items. The upsides first: The product works very well. Not quite as well as another product I used in the past, but this is also less than half the cost (or was at the time of purchase), so it was worth trying out. It successfully removed any 'gym funk' that my workout shirts would retain that my normal detergent wasn't eliminating. Downsides - the packaging. Wow. The first bottle had a little seal under the cap that I had to peel off. The second bottle didn't. I now see another reason why some people had leaks in transit. Also, the plastic they use is THIN. When the bottle is full, applying the amount of pressure needed to hold the bottle WILL result in enough concave force to push liquid up and out. One side of the bottle has ridges along the edge, and a 'dip' in the sides about halfway to the front. I have fairly large hands and my fingers were not long enough to use this (I thought maybe it was a grip point). Gripping from the other side isn't any better. It's only after you've used the first few doses and can comfortably squeeze the bottle does it feel safe to hold. The cap has a slightly rounded top. So you can't set it down to fill as an impromptu measuring cup like you can with most detergents. I found this odd. Combined with the bottle ergonomic issues, I just free-pour the few uses until I can hold it as mentioned in one hand, and the cap in the other. Fix the packaging, keep the price, and this will be a 5 star product.

Something that actually WORKS. My husband and I have been doing jiu-jitsu for over a decade. A constant ongoing problem: the funk. The horrid smell of old sweat that makes you consider just throwing your athletic clothes away because nothing seems to get it out. I first tried this product on a spandex workout top/rash guard that had "the funk". I ran it through a regular wash cycle with a capful of detergent. It smelled better after washing, but it didn't totally get it out. I wasn't surprised. Before writing this product off, I decided to soak the top in overnight in hot water and two capfuls of this detergent. After soaking, I washed it again... and holy %$&!. It worked! It smelled brand new. Clean, fresh, and best of all: the smell didn't come back the first time it got sweaty again. Since then, I've de-funkified all of our workout gear using the soak method, and use it as a regular detergent for maintenance. This product is incredible and I'm telling every athlete I know. Don't throw away your favorite gear until you've tried this stuff.

Certain workout clothes and uniforms just stink. They hold smell in the material and it can be really hard to get out. I do hot yoga and I have kids that play football and soccer in 115 degree weather and this soap completely gets rid of any smell! The power surge scent is pleasant and not overpowering. I typically “Bobby approve” everything and this is currently under review but if I am honest I would continue to use this because nothing else has worked to eliminate smells in our workout clothes like this does. My kids all have sensitive skin (including myself) and we do not have an issue with this product. You add to your washer by pouring into the cap. My kids do their own laundry and haven’t complained about how they add the soap, so I’m gonna say it’s easy for them.

I’ve used lots of sports washes for my gym clothes but this is by far the best. Gets the stale sweaty smell out of clothes brilliantly. So effective, it’s great.

Just received this did not try it yet, but it seems someone has been used and returned. It definitely not new one.
