Josh Wood Blending Brush, Grey Root Touch Up, Dark Blonde, Vegan, 20ml

I have tried so many root cover products from sprays to powders and none of them did a good job. I have blonde coloured hair and getting more and more greys, I really don’t like grey roots showing so I dye the roots as often as every two weeks which is not good for my hair. For ages I’ve been looking for a root cover to be able to extend the time between colouring. When I saw this product I liked the concept of putting it on with a brush on damp hair so I thought I’d give it a go. And wow! It’s amazing! It covers up all the greys and looks very natural. The best root cover up I have found so far.

Rather than roots I use this colour on more or less grey hair from the brush on a glove blended with leave-in conditioner, rubbed or streaked into sides, crown and strands then brushing neat into certain areas (I do have shortish hair). I stopped colouring three years ago and don't wish to be completely grey or white. It gives a nice tawny look to the hair but does need doing every couple of weeks, brushed well in after washing and almost drying hair.

The colour had no impact at all .

I have light blond hair and this matched in perfectly, don't be put off by the colour it comes out of the container. It covered my grey regrowth without trace of a line. Do test it for colour match and apply it the day before if you need perfect hair roots for a special event as it weighs the hair down when first applied, one wash on the day will not affect the colour. My root touch up had lasted four days before a salon treatment and would have been effective for longer. I used this when it first came out some years ago. It was good then but this is even better. Brilliant, so pleased I found it again.

A brilliant product to extend colour between hair appointments.

I like the formula of this - it's a more effective cover than powders, and quite easy to use. However it really only lasts the one time you use it - then it washes out. I used it three times in a row, and after the third time, my roots had a yellowish tint, but then I went to the salon and had my roots coloured properly. It's vastly more expensive to use in this way, than the powders or sprays, so I may buy it again, but only for certain conditions.

Like this product, have used before and bought again as doesn’t leave a crispy feel, apply to wet hair, which I prefer to the spray on ones, however, have noticed this time it leaves behind a red’ish tint, so might look for a different make next time
