Is the control box weatherproof?

The control box of these RGBW outdoor string lights is weatherproof. The adapter is not weatherproof. At present, among the adapter-powered light strips on the market, the adapters are all not waterproof.

How many strings can be connected together.. What is the maximum string extension length?

You can link 2 48ft sections together, it can only connect up to 96ft.

Hi, I'd like to add an unlit extension. Do you know what the connectors are called so I can increase the distance between the wall plug and lights?

According to my measurements, the connector is just about 1/2", which means this product should work: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0899QVB29/?th=1 Make sure to select the "big connector" option AND the three wire option.

How bright are these? Can you read a book under a string? Say 10 feet below?

You could adjust the brightness on the app, when you set it to 100%, you could easily read book under them.
