I got these to mount onto my congas during live performance. They've worked out really well, actually. They clamp onto the tuning rods solidly and they don't really move even after two sets of slammin'. The plastic wing nuts which drive the clamp seem like they are made of brittle material so I've always been mindful when tightening and there haven't been any problems. The "gooseneck" element is pretty sturdy and rarely bends under the weight of the microphone, but as mics are heavy they will bend the gooseneck if you extend it too far, but proper placement is everything and I trust these to get me through the night. They also fit onto snare drums and anything with a tension rod. Good buy for sure.

This clamp is not made to the same quality that the normal Audix mounts are. The clamp base is so small and not dense plastic that it snapped when attempting to adjust the gooseneck the first time I tried to use it. At least the normal mounts have a lot more material and are of a more dense plastic. Would not recommend -- go with the original bases or find an alternate mounting solution.
