It really is a BIG BOOK of Trains
This oversized book in brilliant color photographs is a visual feast for anyone of any age who loves trains. All types are pictured right up to today's "bullet" and "superfast" trains. Unfortunately, none are in the US which made me jealous as I scanned the book prior to sending it to my grand nephews (5 and soon to be 4). The sleek lines and color are breathtaking. Imagine taking a luxury ride from NYC to Ft. Lauderdale, FL that could get you there in under 6 hours! It would be easier and better than flying. But, alas, so far we don't know where and how we could put down any track due to the density of our urban populations. For now, we must enjoy what we can see in Europe and China - and an "arm chair" traveler is still better than nothing at all. Mark my words. The kids will LOVE it. Trains are the in thing along with Dinosaurs.

Good Sized Book, Many Photos
Was impressed with the overall size of this book. The photos of trains was an impressive selection of both steam and diesel engines. Several of the photos were slightly out of focus. These pertained to very close-up photos only. Will gift this BIG book to our soon to be 4 YO Grandson who may enjoy it more in a year or two.He is totally absorbed in Thomas and Friends, has many engines, rolling stock, lengths of track. He will love this book. Highly recommended.

Great introduction to trains
A great book for an introduction to trains. I bought it for a three year old out of state and while I was impressed with it, it is a large book and it’s size required a fairly large shipping box. Just be aware of that if you need to ship it. But it is a very nice book.

We were looking for an English-language encyclopedia featuring bullet trains and international intercity trains, and decided to purchase this one.It includes connecting high-speed trains such as Komachi, Eurostar, TGV, and ICE, as well as monorails, which my child enjoys flipping through and reading. This book is perfect for kids who love trains.The large, shiny cover is also really cool and adds to the appeal.

A beautiful big hardback book that is definitely a keeper. My son loves the clarity in the pictures and the big pages. A gorgeous addition to a coffee table or train lovers collection. Good value for money as the overall quality and finish is high.
