JBL CLUB 8620 5x7/6x8 2-Way Coaxial Speaker System, Black

I've done a number of audio upgrades to numerous vehicles in the past, so I am no stranger to a simple speaker swap. Given the weird speaker size in the C pillars of the PT Cruiser, I found these. My first time using JBL for audio. But the price was right, and reviews were solid. The quality has not dissappointed, they feel of solid quality like they should last. The sound quality has a nice well rounded sound stage - perfectly adequate for the rear of the vehicle. Mine are powered by a 4 channel kicker crossover amplifier and not the head unit, so with the volume up they are nice and punchy with no distortion of muddy audio. Sound is nice and clear throughout the volume range. Installation was a breeze, they fit right in with a few millimeters to spare on the magnet and a support beam on the body of my vehicle. The only downside (if you can call it one) is there were no included wires with the speakers. Usually when I buy Sony/Pioneer/Infinity they always come with 2 pairs of wires I can plug into the speakers and crimp onto the existing harness. No big deal, I just soldered the wires directly for a secure connection. If you're on the fence about these, they are great speakers and worth taking a punt on them. I have no experience with them being driven by the head unit, but by an amplifier they are great.

These speakers came in much faster than the original projected shipping date. I installed them into my 2010 Ford F150 and it was a vast improvement over the OEM speakers. The sound is much cleaner and more vibrant than the originals and has a clearer, more crisp overall sound even at high levels. You can tell the difference right away when switching between my original back speakers to the new JBL speakers in front. Now I have to change the back speakers to match the fronts, because theyre so much more of an improvement. I have always changed out my OEM speakers to aftermarkets in search of a better sound and these JBLs do the trick.

**Update*** I still love these speakers. They still sound awesome......missing a little on the highs but other then that they are petfect. These speakers sound great. I was not expecting the bass that they put out. I am truly amazed. I have them running off of an Atoto A6 pro without an amp and let me tell you the louder the volume the better they sound. I was thinking about adding an underseat sub to complete the system. But I'm not sure I need one after hearing the bass coming from these speakers. Would definitely recommend and buy them again.

Ordered these due to one of my 2000 Town car's speaker being damaged. They dropped right in and holes lined up with holes in rear deck. I was curious how much better these were so I only replaced the damaged one first and flipped between right and left speaker. At first I was not impressed with the JBL sound was lower than stock speaker not by a lot but noticeable. The JBL seemed a little lacking in bass but the mid and highs were there better than the stock speaker. I than replaced both speakers with the JBL's. With both in I could notice the improvement of the mid's and high's this is coming from 60 year old man ears. What I noticed is the longer I played them the better they seemed to sound and the bass started to come alive. Now after a couple of weeks they really sound good. I have heard people say that speakers need a break in period. Kind of makes sense for the bass as the edes of the bass cone are probably a bit stiff and loosen up with use. So for $53 thats what I got these for they sound good and I didn't have to go to a junk yard to try and find some old speakers that fit and probably just as worn out as my original ones were. So I'd say yes I'm happy with my purchase.

Sound great for $50 speakers-they even have some bass response!

While doing some research I came across these JBL Club series speakers. The reviews were good and the price was even better (55% off). They bolted right in to my Lincoln MKX and are a drastic improvement over the stock speakers. Awesome sound even from the stock head unit. Crystal clear with no distortion even at full volume (again, with stock head unit). Good bass response, but dont expect them to hit hard because they are not subs. I highly recommend these even at full price.

Replaced all 4 door speakers in my 09 Mazda 3, and these were a huge improvement over the stock speakers. So much more clarity and punch to them all around, and they can handle a LOT more volume. The only problem with them I have is that now I got some rattle in my door frames since they bump harder. I plan to upgrade the head unit next, which will fully take advantage of these speakers unlike the stock unit.

Replaced factory door speakers in 1997 f-150 in which the foam surrounds had crumbled with age. The 8620’s installed easily, although the frames weren’t quite the same shape as factory, leaving gaps between the frames and the door openings that had to be filled with supplied gaskets. As for audio quality, with factory head unit I don’t notice much difference. The jbl may have slightly more bass. Might add an amp or update the head unit later to see if there is an improvement. Wish Ford had designed the openings for 6x9 or 6.5 instead of 5x8. Anyway, no more buzzing for now!

Sounds Really good in 78 Camaro and are reasonably easy to install using the two end tab mounts. I would definitely buy them again. They sound even better with foam or other enclosure type behind them providing back pressure.

This is written by a guy who is a music quality snob but knows little about speakers, Amps etc.. the factory speakers were blown on my 2002 explorer so I grabbed a set for the rear doors and I was amazed, over a few weeks the sound just got better and better so I ordered a set for the front and now my mind and ears are blown in the best way possible! No amp, I just have a cheap boss head unit and the factory sub. Very happy! Put them in your cart and watch them the price fluctuates violently. Bought both sets at 93 CAD

So far so good been about a week and well I love the sound of JBL.

fits great on my 2011 vic , sounds good but needs a amplifier to clean it up a bit.

Adds a real punch and sense of depth to my Mazdaspeed 3. I like the highs and find the lows to my taste. It sounds so much better than the horrendous Bose speakers in the car (these are low end speakers using the Bose name).
