Give them time and break them in!
I'm a tile guy and I use diamond pads to polish the chipped edges off my tile from the score and snap cutter or grinder. These are deceiving at first, as they don't work well until you break them in a little, but they work great after you break through the smooth layer.I can't comment on how they last yet.
