Sexy, Erotic, Dangerous, Hilarious at times - The Masters and Mercenaries Series is my all time favorite.
The Masters and Mercenaries Series is my all time favorite. Every time a new one is due to come out I wait not so patiently for it to arrive on my e-reader. I squealed with delight when this one downloaded. When we first met Simon I wasn't sure I wanted his story. He came off to me like an arrogant Brit, who would be stuffy and not at all alpha like the rest of the Sanctum / Mckay/ Taggart fellows.I started to crave his story when Chelsea showed up, goes to show you when the right woman is paired with the right man sparks fly.We learn so much about Simon in this book that we never knew before, about his childhood. Lexi teased us with small glimpses of the real guy beneath the suit when he interacted with Chelsea.I also felt how Simon really thought of the Mckay / Taggart group as his family and he would do anything for them.I really loved the "partnership" of Jesse and Simon at first it seemed like Simon was to be the young PTSD victims "babysitter" but their bromance turned out to be so much more. Jesse and Simon have a strong brotherly bond and was a pleasure to read. Jesse stole my heart from the moment he was introduced and I can't wait to read his story.Chelsea had so many self-esteem issues thanks to her crazy Russian mob father who brutalized her physically and emotionally. I would have thought no man would have been able to reach her. But Simon was so up to the challenge. Right from the start the sexual chemistry these two shared was sizzling. She goes to Simon for help he uses the opportunity to get her to sign a BDSM contract with him that he has every intention of adhering to forever. Using it to gain her love and trust. While they are on the run from whoever is trying to kill Chelsea, Simon introduces her to the world of D/s relationships that Chelsea thought he didn't want. But with Simon she finally admits its different only with him.As usual this series brings tons of action and lots of alpha male Mckay/Taggart sexiness. Also we meet so many new characters, including Simon's cousins, brother and a couple more Taggart's I can't wait to learn more about.Of course my Ian is back and as sarcastic and brooding as ever with his lovely wife Charlotte in tow. I love at one point he gets an unexpected "hug" and doesn't know what to do. I laughed out loud and his reactions. This is a series that can go on forever as far as I am concerned.Lexi Blake writes this series so well that it never gets stale, never repeats itself and keeps us entertained every time. The epilogue (I love an epilogue ) made me smile for what is to come. There is a novella with two new characters and then after that Jesse and Phoebe's story. Pre-orders already in so I wait again. This series has it all, love, danger, intrigue, comedy, heartbreak. If you have not read this series you need to get it, I highly recommend.

Outstanding
I have been waiting for Simon and Chelsea's story for so long, it seems. As readers, we have had a lot of exposure to these two. We know a lot about their past, their motivations, and how they interact with the group and each other. The build up has been exquisite. The payoff, outstanding!Very Brief Synopsis - Chelsea's past as The Broker comes back to haunt her when someone sends a bomb to her apartment. She runs to Simon, who uses her situation to his advantage by drafting a contract for the duration of the mission. (The contract comes up throughout the book in amusing ways!) With The Collective breathing down their necks, Simon, Chelsea and Jesse make a break for safety. When The Agency and McKay-Taggart get involved, too, well...Let the fun begin! (There is a lot of stuff going on, but there are a lot of spoilers, and I don't want to give anything away)What worked - Simon, so lonely, so much wants to love someone and have her love him back. He hides his savage side in his Saville Row suit, but our boy is so much more than fine fabric and leather loafers. Especially when Chelsea is in danger...don't get in Simon's way. We see how much Simon longs for Chelsea to let him past her defensive shields. He wants to pamper her, take care of her, love her...Simon isn't a pushover, though, as Chelsea learns. Gawd, I loved Simon.Chelsea - Used as a means of keeping her sister, Charlotte, in line, Chelsea suffered unimaginable trauma. She trusts no one but her sister, and to some degree, Simon. Chelsea can't see herself as Simon sees her. She isn't experienced, and she doesn't know what to do with the feelings Simon causes her to feel. Simon understands Chelsea better than she understands herself. I love the growth Chelsea showed throughout the book. When she and Charlotte have a come to Jesus moment, Chelsea isn't happy with what she sees in herself. The humor - Oh my word, so funny! From "I'm a staid and traditional pervert" to "I think they're having math sex", Simon and Chelsea kept me laughing. And Ian - well, Satan is in fine form. "The woman is after my sperm"! Lol! I *love* Ian. One of my top 3 favorite heroes, evah.Oh, the places we will go - The introduction of Tenn's team and Simon's cousins give us a whole new set of potential Doms to have stories about! Yay!Easter eggs - If you read any of Ms. Blake's Thieves series or Masters of Menage, there are a couple of references that will make you smile.Bottom line - Wholeheartedly recommend! Though I would suggest you start at the beginning, so View will make more sense. Also, the whole M&M series is so good, you don't want to miss it. Ms. Blake is a genius at this writing thing. If you like BDSM light, gorgeous English heroes, spunky sheroes, deep emotion, humor and smoking hawt smexy times, you will love this book, and the whole series!

Finally, Chelsea and Simon's book
Another five 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 rating for this book, Lexi Blake sure knows how to write a good romantic thriller with a basis in D/s.No plot spoilers, ever, but if you have not read previous books in this series you will be playing catch up with this one.For those who have read the previous books you will not be disappointed with this, I promise! The storyline pulls you along at pace, there is significant self discovery for both Chelsea and Simon, there is intrigue and new places to visit as the sub plot continues to build from previous books as the team begin to delve into the world of the collective. We have old, familiar faces and the introduction of new characters who immediately take your interest. The sex is hot and obviously in the world of TM, D/s based what with Simon being one possessive alpha male.

Excellent
I discovered this author by accident, reading a book that is in the series that follows this one. I loved it, read the rest of the books in the series. Was disappointed when the series ended, decided to go back to the beginning and have bought this entire series. Loving it as well, unique story lines, great characters and enjoying the D/s elements as well.

Simon is my James Bond
I loved the previously books in the Masters and Mercenaries series so once I saw this on Amazon, I pre-ordered it. Then as if by magic, the kindle fairy delivered this on the release date and I gobbled it up straight away.I'd really been looking forward to this book as Simon was the epitome of a suave, sophisticated, aristocratic spy in my mind. All the books have a James Bond related title and if any of the characters remind me of Bond, it's Simon. He will maim and kill in the line of duty and then straighten his tie and dust off his suit as if nothing happened. His go bag has the necessaries for his line of work, new identity, cash, ammo, but he also includes a tailored suit. He is underestimated by many, they think he's a toff, a spoilt brat distantly in line to the throne but he proves himself a force to be reckoned with; don't be fooled by his noble and gentlemanly exterior.Chelsea lets her past define her, which we all do to some extent, but it's made her bitter, twisted and not realising her own worth. She needs to feel powerful and useful and since she no longer works as The Broker, she is lost. She is considerably naive despite being a criminal cyber mastermind. She can be a bit annoying at times as she knows what she is saying will anger Simon, it's like prodding a bear with a stick. She provokes him and then is unhappy with his response.Tag was as stroopy and amusing as always, I have a soft spot for him. This is a funny, raunchy, lightly BDSM, spy love story and I loved it. Bring on Jess and Phoebe's story.

Another hit for Lexi
Another hit from Lexi. The story is about the sophisticated Simon and Chelsea, the computer hacker. There is tension and anxiety as Chelsea's life is threatened. Simon is determined to protect her but does not find Chelsea to be easy to shield because of her past and her strong independent character. However, love wins through in the end and there is a happy ending. This novel contains an enormous amount of humour and sarcasm, which has been in previous novels of the series but is found more than ever in this book.
