what kind of cable is required for this switch? is it the one identical to the rj45 (setalk hs)?

No this is made for a RayNet connector only to this switch. Raymarine does make a number of different cables to connect this switch to different components. All new Raymarine components now use RayNet connectors for all of there High Speed networks. The old standard for their HS switch was RJ45.
