How deep is the throat on the irwin tools quick-grip handi-clamp, 2-inch?

The longest dimension, from the outside of the grip pads to the throat, is 2.5" Depending on the thickness of the clamped material, it would be a max. of 2.75"

Do you mean breaks? If so then you won' be able to break these. If you mean how much pressure you an apply, then these will do about 125# to 150# and then no more because they will slip and stay. Perfect pressure or most glue jobs in woodworking.
