I had Fast Fibre installed and was given a new Eero 6 Router by TalkTalk. I have an older property with thick interior walls and with the basic one Eero I only got my 150 Mb/s in the room the modem was located. Elsewhere in the house Wifi was very poor and unstable, reducing to 1-5 Mb/s in the next room! I looked up the cost of expanding the Eero 6 Mesh system and found the cheapest 3 Eero 6 pack was around 300 pounds! Instead I opted to continue to use the Talktalk wifi hub/router (which can cope with 150 Mb/s) and look for a cheaper Mesh system. Having ploughed through dozens of adverts I found the Mercusys system. I know the Talktalk Wifi Router and the Mercusys are Wifi 5 rather than Wifi 6 but, as I said, this set up can cope with and produce Fast Fibre speeds of 150 Mb/s which is more than enough for me.Having bought the Mercusys system, set up was really easy using the Android app you can download. You do need (at least I did) to create a new wifi network ID but this was very easy. I basically have the main Mercusys unit plugged into my Talktalk Wifi router/hub and you then set up each additional Mercusys unit by connecting it to the main unit using the app. Although this might all sound complicated believe me it is not. I had the whole Mesh system running in15-20 minutes.The improvement in wifi performance in my home has been outstanding. I have the main Mesh unit in my front room. I placed one Mesh unit on the same floor in my main living room and the third on the upstairs landing. I have now got 150 Mb/s throughout the majority of the ground floor and first floor. I have five bedrooms and four reception rooms and even at the furthest point, through several thick walls I get 50/60 Mb/s. I could also expand the system further if needed very easily. I have had 9/10 devices using the Mesh network simultaneously with no performance loss. This is, without doubt, the best £80 I have ever spent on enhancing my wifi - thoroughly recommended.

Despite having virgin M250 broadband and getting a good speed test result near my hub 3 router other rooms could be as low as 30mb and i was having lots of trouble streaming TV. It kept dropping out and buffering. Virgin do offer a mesh system for free but you have to prove you get less than 30mb in any room and even then they only send you one. So I thought I would try this out especially as its a lot cheaper than other systems or there. I have to say I am very pleased with it. It was easy to set up. I had to set my hub 3 as a modem and set the first unit as the WiFi router then put the other two around the house with one upstairs. Once the whole setup was optimized i consistently get well over 200mb in all rooms in my house. More importantly the tv doesn't drop out any more. Also because I used the same name and password as I had for my hub 3 all my devices just automatically connected. Brilliant!

Ive spent 2 days setting this up. On day 1 I set up a Halo network based on the sequence of operations on the App, which worked fine but it wanted to work as a router. This was ok but my existing router network uses around 18 smart devices including bulbs, switches, thermostats, Alexas Roku devices and printers. I decided to use a separate Halo network name and SSID and password.It seems that these all need to be accessible around the house, and so I could either switch them individually to my Halo network or change the network to use the existing router as an access point. and set the Halo Network to the same SSID and password as my routers Network. The idea being that The router would handle IP addressing, and the Smart devices should just appear on the Halo network.On Day 2, I changed the Halo net name to my Routers SSID and Password. (easy) Then set the Halo net to work as an Access point (also easy - via the Mercury's App). Then optimised the network - again on the app.There was some conflict going on between the router Wifi and the Halo Wifi so I turned off the Router Wifi.Now I have 12 devices showing as online on the app. the other 6 devices show as offline.2 are actually offline but 4 are not - These 4 are smart switches , and fortunately they work fine via both the smart life App and via Alexa. It's just that they show as offline on the Halo network. Not sure why . FAQ and the online manual don't help with this issue. I guess I need to try out their Tech support. Another issue is that my wifi printer is too old (10 years - Epson BX525WD) to connect to the Halo Network - :^((. It keeps showing Network connect fail incompatible wifi.So Im quite happy with the system. I could use a couple more Halo units to cover our conservatory and hopefully the garage, but will get used to the current system first.Pros: easy to setup. Works well once configured correctly. The Phone App is really good.Cons: range less than expected. Detailed configuration is complex. Interaction with existing wifi has conflicts.My biggest ask:It would help to have a setup manual or at least FAQs for how to apply to a smart device network.Pics :1 - Connecting the main halo to a router.2- The halo running after closing down the router wifi.3- Main halo with some clients inc Smart Thermostat.Update after 1 month Use:1. Upgraded 3 to 4 stars2. Very reliable wifi at a min speed so far of 300 mbs (the more clients the lower the speed)3. Printer working in the mesh by connecting it to a Halo in my upstairs office - working really quickly.4. IoT smart switches seem to show as online if they are in a line of sight from a hub rather than behind objects. In the main they still work even if showing offline in the app.5. Now planning to extend the mesh with a couple extra Halos

I've got five of these in total - a three pack and a two pack. Running on a Virgin Media Router, 1gb connection. They provide good mesh coverage and the app is easy to use and understand.Plugging in an ethernet cable provides high speed - no idea how it works (as it's coming via wifi and then through an ethernet) but it does, and my "gaming son" is very pleased with the speed.Look nice enough when out on display, and all seem to connect each other well.I'd recommend these.

My isp is VIRGIN MEDIA - UK I have been struggling with poor wifi reception all around my house for a very long time.Tried the virgin hexagonal mesh system which didn’t help much at all and was considering moving ISP but seeing as the speed and reliability of the internet connection is excellent when close to the router, I thought to try this mesh system.This system connects very easy indeed.Instructions are very clear.I first tried the system with virgin media router in modem mode - works excellent! Very fast upload and download everywhere in my home, even at the back where I never could get a stable wifi connection before!!Using the mesh system with the Virgin router in default router mode works just as well and great speed everywhere with similar speed test results.For my self I went back to modem mode simply because it’s so fast to configure this mesh system in the app compared to waiting ages for the virgin configuration webpage to load to make changes.I could even use my smart lights and plugs which uses 2.4GHz - no issues at all.Now I can stream to my Apple TV 4K from anywhere with zero lag or buffering compared to when I was using just the Virgin media router. Before I could only stream in the room where the router is otherwise the stream was choppy.I recommend this mesh system to anybody who has poor wifi reception with their current setup. £75 what a bargain!

I didn't realise using an old extender actually halved my router speed throughout the house. This has been an excellent mesh system so far and I'm now getting 75mbps in an old country cottage whereas before it sometimes went as low as 14mbps. Very easy to set up with the online app. Recommended.

Mercusys H50 Mesh system was very easy to setup although the power cables for the individual 'mesh' units are far too short for any normal situation. So unless you are placing the units next to a power socket you will need to purchase extensions for the power.This is setup in a three bedroom house (fibre with cabled speed from the router of approx 950Mbps) with the main unit downstairs in an office, the first remote unit next door in the living room and the third unit setup upstairs in a bedroom.So Wi-Fi switched off on the fibre router, main mesh unit connected directly by ethernet cable to the fibre router and the two remote units both connected by Wi-Fi to the main unit, the Mercusys app telling me that everything is OK and showing both remote units connected to the main unit. Ethernet cable from main unit to router is Cat7.First thing is that the speed is very slow - using the Wi-Fi directly from the router (i.e. before the Mercusys Mesh was setup) I got around 900Mbps downstairs with 600Mbps upstairs, anywhere in the house.Using the Mercusys H50 Mesh and standing next to the main unit in the office the maximum speed I have seen is approx 350Mbps and upstairs it drops to around 100mbps.The other thing that is concerning, is that with a 'mesh' you should connect to the nearest unit as you move through the house with the mesh maintaining the strongest signal - unfortunately my devices rarely connect to anything other than the main unit, i.e. if I am upstairs standing next to a remote unit, my phone still shows as connected to the main unit downstairs and using the Mercusys app to show the mesh status confirms this and very rarely shows anything connected to the remote units. It does occasionally connect to the remote units but there is absolutely no change in Wi-Fi speed.Then approximately once a week, the speed will drop to under 50mbps at the main unit, which rebooting from the app does nothing and requires the mains power to be switched off at the main unit before the speed comes back up to its low 300mbps.This system is advertised at having 'speeds of up to 1,900 Mbps' so should at least come close - down to 300Mbps from over 900Mbps from a fast fibre installation is unacceptable!

I bought this to "simplify" my network which uses a mixture of powerline, cable and Wi-Fi with an additional router acting as an access point. In principle, it did the job BUT there were too many issues and my laptop wouldn't default to using the 5Ghz network - so I returned it.The 3 cubes were very easy to set up - download the app, connect the first cube to the router with an Ethernet cable, connect the other two and bingo a new network. A second network wasn't quite what I wanted, so I set it up as an access point and changed the SID/password to match the previous second router. That worked perfectly. However, the performance wasn't as good as I expected. SO I changed a few things.......Cube 2 was connected to the main one via an Ethernet cable to change the backhaul from Wi-Fi to Ethernet: that improved the performance to devices connecting to Cube 2.Cube 3 (upstairs) connected to the main cube despite Cube 2 being closer and Cube 2 having a better backhaul. Devices close to Cube3 would often prefer to connect via Cube 2....My TV struggled when connected to the main Cube (~4m away) when connected at 2.4Ghz so I switched 2.4Ghz off on the Cubes...that worked better I need 2.4Ghz and the TV preferred that to 5Ghz....So I reverted to connected via Ethernet over PowerlineMy laptop, which is typically ~1m from both the router and main Cube, wouldn't reliably connect to the cube using 5Ghz, it preferred 2.4Ghz with questionable performance (drop-outs when playing music). However, it preferred 5 Ghz when connected to the router...After trying all sorts of changes of location, I gave up - I had basically gone back to my original network setup with powerline, cable and a second router acting as an access point so there was little value in the new system and I returned it.Overall, a disappointing experience. Its a shame as it would have greatly simplified my netwotk

Works well without any issues. Easy to setup with the app. Only problem is not having an AU plug adapter.
