Q: Is there an on/off switch? just wondering in case you wanted to turn them off? for instance, guest bedroom is not in use but only a couple times..

Unfortunately the MB500A does not have a shut off, however the MB750A has a off/auto switch. Thanks!

Hi T. Kraft! Our lights come with adhesive tape to install them, not a magnet. However their weight is under 1 lb with batteries installed which means you could purchase a magnet with adhesive tape to install to the back of the unit. Thanks!

Q: Can you paint the plastic?

Yes you can absolutely paint this. I painted mine brown with a fair quality plastic paint that has held up for about 16 months at this time. Not sure about the comment about "too small to paint". You can actually very easily slide the light out from the holder, tape the inside of the mount and spray paint away.

Q: Can I remove the light part to change out batteries without having to remove the mounted back part?

Yes absolutely. The front light part with the batteries slides right off so you can easily change the batteries and slide back on, no need to touch the bracket on the wall. Super easy.
