Great book for connecting with your baby!
This book is a great guide for easy to follow yoga moves for newborns to toddlers. The instructions are well written and illustrated, in black and white. There could be more illustrations for each pose, but once you do the pose with baby, you can figure out what works best for you and your little one. As soon as I received the book, I read all the important info in the first few chapters and then got started with the poses..and baby slept great that night! For the last few days since getting the book, we have been doing the exercises throughout the day…and our little one seriously loves it! It has definitely helped him be more calm and he even eliminates easier now. I am excited to continue the journey forward with this book, adding new poses as our 2 months old grows…he is holding up his head for the most part so we have been doing the newborn and head holders series and really enjoy the time together, connecting, bonding, and helping baby grow stronger everyday. I highly recommend this book!

Amazing Results-- No Mom or Yoga Experience Needed!
This was a great bonding tool for me as a first-time new mom with my baby. It was our first real learning activity together. My son was born big and continued off the charts growth all through his infancy. He hated tummy time and I was afraid that he wasn't going to develop the muscles needed to crawl and walk. Despite the fact that we didn't do these on a strict schedule (being a new mom while working is hard!), I do think doing these activities helped my son's development into greater comfortable moving, then crawling and then walking. My sister in law does physical therapy with children and was impressed with how well his muscle development progressed from the time he was six months to 1 year old. I don't think it sped up his development or anything, but made it easier on him. It was also extremely rewarding to me to start growing more of a bond with my son, other than purely as his caregiver. I did not expect to get so much out of it myself. I have very limited yoga experience myself (we're talking a couple of online videos over the span of years), so clearly it doesn't need any prior experience to be fulfilling. I highly recommend this!

Great book!!!!
I won't say that my baby slept through the night because of it, but seemed to sleep better and it was great for bonding. Also, when he had congestion or the stomach flu, the poses listed for that were great! I do wish that you could look up by ailments too, but it worked either way. Also, at 9 months, he burned his hand on our oven bottom and divine drops were the only way I could calm him for quite some time (after about 10 minutes we went to the hospital and had to wait for meds for nearly 2 hours, so getting him to stop screaming for a couple minutes was relief for both of us). Basically, it is a great intro to getting babies to practice yoga with you. My three year old loves Upside Down Yogi too.

I LOVE this book!
I just can't believe how much fun this book is. It's also developmentally appropriate in movement and in the music "sing-and-do" suggestions (just sing the lyrics in a gentle singsong or to any nursery rhyme tune and you will hit everything they should be hearing to aid their singing development, plus they're bonding with the sound of your voice). The cutest thing is that in the routines it suggests, most end with a hug. In the opening chapter there are recorded music suggestions, tips for parents of twins... I couldn't be happier with this purchase. What a nice way for a child to enter the world! And you feel so competent as a parent having several solutions to their gas problems or fussiness. I bought this a little worried that I'd have to figure out how to keep my babies in plank pose or downward facing dog, but it's not like that at all. Very simple and lots of photos.

Bonding with your baby!
My boys are 15 months apart. When my second son was born, I was so busy with my older son and doing day to day things that I felt like I wasn't spending enough quality time with my newborn. I had been to a mommy and me yoga class with my older son but with no family in town I wasn't able to have someone watch him while I took my youngest to class. I searched online for books and videos that I could use at home and came across itsy bitsy yoga. It got the best reviews so I gave it a go. We have been doing itsy bitsy yoga for several months now and we love it! It relaxes my baby and me! Not to mention there are poses for dad and big brother to do with us! After reading this book and practicing I felt a lot more connected to my baby and I know that he feels the same way! He starts to smile and coo when we begin and it is the best feeling to have him stare up at me with such bright eyes and feel his body relax by my movements! I would recommend this book to any new mom or any mom that wants to feel more connected to their child and become a more confident mom while doing it!

For us it was just OK
This book was ok, but my baby didn't really love the baby yoga. She's 9 months old now, and way past the poses in this book, which bored her within a couple of months. The divine drops really did stop her crying, but then, she wasn't a big cryer anyway, and breastfeeding always stopped her crying too. As for making her sleep well, not a chance. This did absolutely nothing for her sleep, which was great until she began getting teeth at 4 months. I will do yoga with her as she grows up, but real yoga, like my mother did with me on our living room floor starting when I was 3 years old. I don't really know that I would consider what is in this book "yoga" exactly. It may be helpful for some babies to get their bowels going if they're constipated or to relieve wind. Our baby was never constipated so I can't vouch for that, but many of the moves are rather standard for trying to relieve gas in a baby, so that's good. Some babies might love it. I had no idea how the songs went and they were corny so I just made up my own. I would recommend buying this book in case your baby loves it, but I'd buy it used just in case they don't. I think it was also kind of silly, the actual writing and also - BOY were those photos light and small and hard to see - and I have HAWK eyes! However, the basic idea of doing yoga with your little ones is nothing short of wonderful, and as I do yoga at home daily, will certainly bring our little on on board as she grows up. For now, the poses lost whatever bit of interest they had for her months ago. Then again, she never liked to lay down, she prefers to be on the move.

I do wish I had read it earlier when my baby was a newborn!
I was looking for a baby yoga book and quickly settled on this one. I don't believe it's possible to do yoga WITH your baby, as in, at the same time as him/her (before toddlerhood at least) (well, not with MY baby, that's for sure!) It's really good. I only wish the pictures were a bit bigger on the Kindle screen. The instructions are easy, and the made-up names for each "pose" for the youngest babies make it easy to remember, too. I also liked the positive tone - it was not too much or anything, just great. You will probably find that some gestures or playing around you already do with your baby, and that's great! It shows that we naturally know how to do this. The description per milestone is also a brilliant idea, so refreshing. One of the "magic poses" in particular, Divine Drops, was a lifesaver for me during a week with a very ill and very grumpy baby. Last but not least, I did yoga before but I don't think you need to know it beforehand to be able to follow the instructions.

Great book!
I love this book. I started using it when my baby was 4 weeks old. After trying to do "mommy baby" yoga (using Baby Om) I decided it was much easier to do yoga with my baby separately from my own practice, though there is some overlap. Realistically, you have to stop a million times usually to wipe spit up, nurse, burp, etc, and for me it worked better to have all my attention on my baby. This book gives simple exercises, and great tips to make the experience enjoyable for baby. My baby has gotten more and more used to it the more we do it, and she is very calm, relaxed and peaceful when we do it now. I also like this book because it gives new exercises based on lots of developmental steps (head holding, almost sitting, etc) instead of just yoga for a baby - we all know that a 4 week old is much different from a 4 month old! I highly recommend this and plan to use it until my baby is 2!

My son eversince is interested in yoga, sometimes does some poses byhimself (now he is 2). I started yoga with him when he was about one.
