Good quality and great value
Great case. Good quality lightweight and plenty of pockets. Wheels coped well on cobbled streets. Good value for money. Only slight downside is the lack of side handle, which means I had to size down so I could be sure of getting it in and out of bag sizers. Will definitely buy more from Cabin Max when replacing my other cases.

Two year review: Tested to Destruction
TLDR: it's fantastic, but not indestructible. Bought this just under 2 years ago for a 1-week trip: super-spacious, easy to manoeuvre, survived airport baggage handling. Locks work great, handle is nice and strong even when abused (see below), and it strikes the right balance of being recognisable but not garish. Used it for various small-medium length trips since then, with absolutely no complaints. Then came the brutal test: 2½ weeks, 3 flights, 7 hotels, 12km+ of wheeling, with another heavy bag strapped to the handles for most of it. Somehow, I managed to fit all of my clothes in this (except for a few bits in a backpack), and even when densely packed (12kg+) it still moved well. It's obviously tough to close the zips when it's that full, but once closed and locked the zips didn't feel like they want to burst open. Adding a 2nd 9kg holdall bag on top did make it harder to move around, but it was still performing wonderfully. However, no mortal case is made for such torture: throughout the trip it picked up a few stress marks at points on the case's shell, and on the return flight, the shell broke above one of the wheels. Despite this, I was still able to wheel it home (on 2 wheels rather than 4), but this is now an ex-suitcase. I will miss it.

Spacious but a couple of niggles
Having looked at all the various suitcases in the carry-on size, the Cabin Max Anode was the one that stood out for me, amongst all the competition. The dimensions are perfect for Air Transat and many other airlines. I've measured at home and its spot on, so I trust that it will fit the sizers at the airport. I chose slate grey because it was £5-£10 cheaper than other stunning colours available. The interior is a lot more spacious than I was expecting so I'll be weighing carefully to make sure I don't go over the limit. The two halves of the shell are generous and uncluttered, with elastic securing straps on one side, and a zipped covering for the other side. The covering has a spacious zipped waterproof pocket and two 'elasticated' pockets. All the zips run smoothly and easily. There is also a very handy zipped interior pocket which should be useful for a variety of purposes - valuables, money, medication etc. The TSA lock is easy to reach and operate. The handle moves easily and should suit most people. I've taken one star off because 1. The elasticated pockets are really not elasticated! Either the elastic has perished or it hasn't been sewn in correctly to give some tension. It's just a faintly gathered top to each pouch, but anything that is put in it will easily slip out as there's nothing to hold items in place. Zip fastenings would have been so much better. OK for something with a bit of bulk to fit the pockets maybe. 2. It's difficult to find the weight of the case mentioned anywhere. Lots about it being lightweight, but when every gram counts, its really important to know what the empty case weighs. I did a bit of research and there were a couple of mentions that it weighed 2.5kg. I was really looking for something closer to 2kg but not much available in hard shells and 4/8 wheels. So I took a chance because I liked it so much. I've weighed it at home and it weighs approximately 2.75kg which is eating into the 10kg allowance. However, it really is a nice case and those points are just niggles but worth mentioning. I just hope all goes smoothly when its put to the test!

Impressive little suitcase
I recently travelled across Europe with this suitcase, and it handled pavements, tar roads and cobbled streets with no issues. It's sturdy, stylish, and excellent value for money. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Smooth, smart and Ryanair suitable!
This is our second Cabin Max Anode 55x40x20 Cabin Suitcase. They are excellent, smart and very easy to manoeuvre on their 8 wheels, comfortable carrying handle and adjustable height towing/pushing handle (handy for looping handles of an under seat bag). We purchased these particular cases as they were advertised as Ryanair suitable. Having frequent panic attacks pre flight in case they didn’t meet approval from Ryanair, I’m very relieved to say they did slide into the bag sizer although Ryanair didn’t actually check the case size at all! The case also has neat zipped wet and dry storage pockets, a zip cover for one half of the case, another zipped pocket and elasticated straps for the other side. I have done something odd with one of the locks so it doesn’t work, but as its cabin luggage it doesn’t really need locking anyway.

Great Value and light
Excellent, well made, Ryanair compliant carry-on. Three separate zippered compartments help organise contents. There is also a small toiletries pouch which is easily accessible. The lock only operates when the zip is precisely aligned with it, which is a bit irritating. Handle and wheels seem solid, only time will tell how robust they are.

The Real-Deal Suitcase for Budget Flyers
Oh, I recently got the Cabin Max Anode Cabin Suitcase for all my short-haul flights, and honestly, it's been pretty good. I've been using it mainly on budget airlines like Ryanair and easyJet, and it's been perfect size-wise. No issues at the gate or having to jam it into the overhead lockers, which is a massive plus for me. The wheels? Smooth as butter. It's such a breeze to navigate through crowded terminals. Plus, it comes with a combination lock, which adds that extra bit of security and peace of mind. I opted for the black one, and it's a great colour - looks sleek and doesn't show dirt easily. Inside, there's plenty of room for all my stuff, and the zip flap on one half is brilliant for keeping everything organised. But, it's not all perfect. The suitcase does have a tendency to tip over a bit too easily, especially if I try balancing another bag on top of it. A bit of a nuisance, honestly. And while we're on the subject, the lock feels a tad flimsy. It does the job, but I wouldn't mind if it felt a bit more robust. Lastly, I really wish there was a handle on the side. It'd make lifting it into overhead bins and pulling it out so much easier. Overall, though, it's a solid choice for anyone who flies a lot with budget carriers. Just might need to keep an eye on it so it doesn't take a tumble!

Top quality case!
Having recently changed jobs, I needed a small suitcase or bag/holdall for overnight work trips, but I didn't want something super small as I could then use it for weekends away, city breaks etc, but also didn't want it so big that I couldn't use it as carry on luggage for flights (albeit knowing that the more budget airlines would charge me for the size I wanted). This suitcase ticks all the boxes! It is super smart, very lightweight and so far seems very sturdy. I've already used it for an overnight business trip with a long bus and two long train rides each way, as well as then walking with it around the streets of Birmingham between the train station, my hotel and the venue, and it held up really well. The outer shell seems very tough, and having got caught in the rain in my way home, I'm very glad I went for a hard shell case rather than a soft/fabric one! The only downside is that my other half likes it so much he wants to steal it, so maybe I'll have to buy him one too haha!

Great for European Airlines
My boyfriend and I went on a 15-day, 3 country vacation in Europe. I got this one for him and I purchased another version, Velocity 44L, for myself because the descriptions didn’t offer detail explaining the differences and neither did the company when I reached out . Both are from Cabinmax. I did a lot of research for rolling hard shell suitcases for our trip, given European cheap airlines are notorious for being strict and even slightly smaller than US airlines. This one seemed the best because measurements would fit all the airlines we were going to use on our trip. The measurements worked for Air Sata, Easy Jet, Vueling, and Ryan Air. The only issue was weight because we used vacuum seal bags for clothes which allowed for more weight than would fit without vacuum seal bags, but we did some rearranging whenever we needed to check the weight. Multiple people referred to our bags as “small”, so they not only measure to fit requirements but they also appear small, but I did get blue to also not draw attention to airline personnel. I definitely wished I bought us both these because I liked my boyfriend’s better because the Anode 44L interior pocket is better than the one I got myself (the Velocity). Additionally, although the Anode has a lock on the bag (the Velocity doesn’t have one), we couldn’t figure out how to set the lock, we followed the instructions but still didn’t work. I also thing it rolled well on uneven European streets. Overall, I recommend getting this bag if it fits within your airline measurement requirements.

no side handle
light & wheels move smoothly, no side handle which i didn't think about until it arrived, which is badly missed.
