Does this product work with RS-422 signals?

Accepted Answer

Nope.  RS-232 only.  Great product if you want four RS-232 ports on your computer, but won’t help you with handling RS-422.

Is there any update about Windows 10 compatibility?

Accepted Answer

Works just fine on Windows 10. If your computer has internet access, just plug it in, the latest drivers are available from Windows Update and Windows 10 will find them on its own (with internet access). Otherwise, check the manufacture's site, there is an .exe installer there.

Question 3

For use connecting to console ports on computers or switches or such, are gender-bending and/or null modem adapters required?

The way this USB to RS232 serial adapter is being used by me is to connect it to a computer that has only USB ports and no RS232 serial ports.  The four DB9 (male) connectors of the adapter are then connected to serial devices, either directly or with a RS232 serial cable (not a crossover/null modem cable) to my devices that require a RS232 serial connection to my computer.  
In general, if the device to which this adapter is being connected requires a female DB9 connector on the attaching cable, then a gender changer would be required.  If the serial device to which the adapter is going to be connected requires a crossover/null modem serial connection, then a crossover cable/null modem adapter would be required.  The answer to this question will depend on what is required by the device to which this adapter will be connected assuming the connection to a computer USB port and adapter drivers are installed correctly.

What is the voltage on the Tx pin (pin 3)?

-5.7V for logic high, +4.2V for logic low, measuring from pin 3 to pin 5.
