Does this dishwasher have its own water tank that can be filled manuall; ie it does not require connection to either a tap or other water source?

Yes, there is a filling hole in the top of the machine, and you can fill it with a jug or something similar. ( I use a plastic milk bottle to fill mine ) it takes 5litres of water to fill it. And it makes a beeping noise to tell you when it's full.

How many washes does one tank of water do? Do you need to refill it every time you use it?

You need to fill up each time you use the dishwasher. I refill when I empty it so it just becomes a habit. Hope this helps.

Yes, it is all plastic interior and works very well.
