Good Lamp, Excellent Customer Service!
Update 5-19-25 The second lamp lasted 3550 hours. OEM lamps claim 4000 hours life but cost $140 on Amazon. Cooban lamps cost about $40 and the two I've had have lasted 2000 an 3550 hours. Changing is easy and takes less than a half hour, including removal from the ceiling mount and rehanging the projector. The lamp is identical to an OEM in color temperature and brightness, and maintains its brightness throughout it's life. Cooban includes a mini screwdriver and a cotton glove to keep finger oils off the lamp while replacing it. (Finger oils can reduce the life of a lamp) So, you do the math; $140 for 4000 hours or, based on my two lamps, 6550 hours for $80. I'll go with the Cooban every time! In fact, Changing the lamp is easy, at least on my Epson. First, slide the lens cover closed to keep from accidentally touching the lens. Remove the one screw than holds the lamp cover in place. Two screws hold the lamp in place. Unscrew these, then pull the lamp housing straight up to remove it. Holding the new lamp in your gloved hand insert it into the opening, then press down till you feel it seat in the socket. Tighten the two screws to hold it in place. Replace the lamp cover and tighten the screw to hold it in place. While you are doing this you should also remove the dust filter and vacuum it clean. Actually, if you use your projector a lot, you should do this monthly. These lamps need to run at high temperatures to generate the bright light needed, so good air flow to cool the lamp is critical to long lamp life. Original Review: OK, this is going to sound a little strange giving this lamp 5 stars after it lasted only 190 days, but read on... Projector lamp life is a crap shoot. I've had OEM lamps that lasted 4000 hours to as much as 9000 hours in my Epson projector, and this lamp lasted a little over 2000 hours. Here's why it gets 5 stars. At 190 days it was within the 200 day warranty, so I contacted Cooban. Then, anticipating a couple of weeks to process the warranty I bought another lamp from them to get back up and running right away. Why? Because these are good lamps. Unlike other non-OEM lamps I've bought, these have the correct color light. No adjustments have to be made to your settings. They also seem to run as cool as an OEM. If you've ever had an aftermarket lamp cook one of your LCD panels you'll know what I'm talking about. But. the biggest reason for the 5 stars is their warranty performance! I contacted Cooban with a copy of my Amazon receipt. They responded immediately with a request for a picture of the projector's diagnostic lights. I sent them the picture, which confirmed a defective lamp, and the next day they emailed me apologizing for the inconvenience and letting me know they were sending a replacement, which arrived promptly. Perfect customer service! You can buy with confidence from this Cooban! Another thing to consider is the price. OEM lamps cost almost 5 times what this lamp costs. Epsom claims a 4000 hour OEM lamp life. Changing a lamp takes less than 10 minutes. Cooban even includes a screwdriver and cotton glove to change the lamp. Even if you only get 2000 hours per lamp, compared to the OEM lamp life claimed by the manufacturer you will get more than twice the hours for half the price of an OEM.

Still going strong after almost 2 years - Color and brightness match OEM bulb
Quick update: I got this almost 2 years ago and it's still working great. Used a couple hours a day, about 5 days a week. Not sure if it has dimmed, because I use it in a dark room. But I've had no issues. Going to buy another so I have one on hand if/when needed. The price allows me to do that :-) Original review: An excellent deal on a perfect-fit product. I am amazed at how well this bulb matches previous one(s) I've used in my projector. More details: My Epson 8350 had a 5 year old bulb in it which went out with a (loud) bang. I was about to buy a 'real' Epson bulb for 4 times the cost of this, but figured I'd try this. If nothing else, it would tell me if the projector had been damaged when the previous bulb failed. Fortunately, the projector is fine and this COOBAN bulb is brighter than I remember the old one (a little bit), and more importantly the color temperature is exactly the same. I'm back in business :-) Also, the fan sound noise is the same as before. At one point I did detect a slight (barely audible) high-pitched periodic 'beep' at 1 second'ish intervals, hidden in the fan noise, but that seems to have gone away. I don't know if that was the projector or the bulb, but it's all better now. And I had some minor 'flickering' at one point. But I don't believe that flickering is due to this bulb. I recall previous bulb(s) had done that as well. FWIW, I fixed it by switching the projector to normal rather than eco mode. Heck - at 40 bucks, I can afford for this to burn out in a couple years rather than last 4 or 5 like the old replacement bulb that this replaces. So, in summary, this appears to be every bit as good as the original equipment lamp. Very happy I purchased this product. It's giving the amazing color and contrast that my Epson 8350 has for the last 10 years or so...

Didn't last
Purchased the last weekend in November of 2022. Seemingly worked fine, but noticed a high-pitched beep, that was at regular intervals, so assume it was some sort of error code. With about 50-60 hours of use, it stopped working and I have a 'replace lamp' error light on my projector. Even though it's be 6 months since installing (writing this as of June 10th, we use it infrequently, so I would've expected this product to last much longer than that. Disappointed to say the least between the beep and lack of durability. ** Within a day or two of posting this review, Cooban customer service reached out. I was still within my fist 200 days of getting the product and the service representative offered to replace the lamp at no additional charge and with relatively no questions asked. I promptly received the replacement as promised and have just replaced the lamp. Everything is working. I still hear a faint, high pitched noise from the projector that is audible when the volume is down very low. I was hoping this noise would resolve with the replacement but that didn't happen. It is mildly annoying, but I'm willing to live with it for now. I only had 34 hours of use on the previous lamp, so we'll see how long this one lasts. I did replace the air filter, and cleaned the projector of dust. I also adhere to all best-practice suggestions for getting the most life out of the bulb, so I'll be curious if this replacement is better than the first Cooban lamp I purchased. My original lamp that was in the projector out of the box lasted almost 10 years and well beyond 300 hours of use, so even if this replacement lasts half of the life of the original lamp, I will be satisfied. I must note that the customer service was top-notch, attentive, and truly backed their product.

As Bright As Advertised
UPDATED REVIEW: I received the projector lamp in a plain cardboard box and installed it in my projector. At first, it was bright, but after just a few uses, the brightness dimmed significantlyโcomparable to my original Epson lamp that already had over 3,600 hours of use. I initially rated the product 1 star and did not recommend it. However, about a week later, the seller reached out to me, honored the 200-day warranty, and promptly sent a replacement lamp along with a refund. The new lamp arrived the next day, this time in branded Cooban packaging, which made me wonder if the first one sent in a cardboard box had been used or repackaged. The replacement lamp is excellentโbright and effective, giving our old Epson projector a new lease on life. We've been using it for a couple of weeks without issue. I'm updating my rating to 5 stars, regardless of the inconvenience of receiving what seemed to be a used product initially. That said, the seller's customer service has been outstanding, and the lamp is truly bright.Attached video doesn't do it justice. The real picture is much better. *** FIRST REVIEW: The lamp arrived on time and fit perfectly in my Epson projector. Initially, it was bright and seemed promising, but after just 3โ4 uses to watch movies, the brightness noticeably dropped. Within a week, it was no brighter than the original lamp it replacedโwhich had over 3600 hours on it. Unfortunately, it doesn't live up to its brightness claims. I do not recommend this product.

Consistent color, works for Epson 8350, damaged box..
The oem lasted 952 hours before going out. This fit perfectly on our Epson Home Cinema 8350. Color is excellent and works fine no over heating. Reason for 4 star the product box was damaged and it came in an undamaged box. Tested it and it works fine. They have a 200 day or 365 warranty inside the box. Hopefully this holds out. Pricing is good. We will see how long it holds up.

Better bulb than Epson
The original bulb I purchased was in November 2023, but the solder joint to the bulb had failed after around 100 hours. The company was very responsive in sending a replacement bulb. Now, after 5,400 hours (which is 1,000 hours longer than the best Epson bulb), the replacement bulb is finally starting to oscillate between dim and normal. After the initial warranty on the bulb had passed I began using the projector more and more. After the 4,000 hour mark I figured the bulb would fail soon, and have been using the projector a dozen hours or more each day trying to get the bulb to fail. I will definitely be ordering another bulb from these guys very soon! (The only complaint I have with both bulbs is that the screws are a b*tch to get lined up properly to the holes for the bulb to sit properly in the projector.)

Compatible, works great, delivers fast
This lamp was compatible with our church projector as indicated. It came with a mini screwdriver for opening the top cover and a glove so we could install it without transferring skin oils to it, which is always a bad thing. The price was half that of an OEM lamp. We ordered it Saturday afternoon and it was delivered to the church early Sunday morning, giving us enough time to get the downstairs projector ready for a planned movie night event the following Tuesday.

Limited lifespan
It worked, but nowhere near as long as the original. This one only for 4 months, when the original lasted years.

Great customer service and warranty
The bulb burned out (actually kind of "exploded") after only 2 and a half months (75 days). But it has a 200 day warranty so I contacted COOBAN and they sent a new bulb right away with no hassles at all! Will have to wait to see how long this bulb lasts. But the customer service was great!!

Bulb died - But company refunded
Seemed good - but lasted only 6mo (maybe 40hrs). No warning - just died suddenly. They claim a 200 day warranty - but how do I contact them?? If they read this review and get back to me I will update Original bulb that lasted for over 10yrs Wonโt be buying this brand again Edit - I couldn't find the contact info for company so posted this review frustrated that I couldn't claim on the warranty. Within 2 days they sent an email - refunding purchase price AND sent a replacement bulb. Refund arrived within 8hrs, new bulb within a few days. Willing to stand behind their product and acknowledging that clearly I had gotten a defective product.
